Did you know that the original Ringu film is actually based on a chapter of a Japanese novelty book? It's like a short story entitled Lemonlies, or Lemonheart (something to that effect.)In this original story, Sadako is a young apprentice at a Drama Company who falls ill one day (the illness was diagnosed as chicken pox)and had to be confined in a hospital where she meets a young internist who falls heels-over-head inlove with Sadako and they started meeting frequently during her confinement. In the course of their friendship, the young internist rapes Sadako and is horrified to find out that Sadako is actually a hermaphodite. He loses his sense of reason and beats the living daylights out of the poor guy. And when he thought that he had accidentally killed Sadako, he takes the body and throws it in a well. And that's how the terror began for him. Because everytime he passes by a mirror, or any shinny surfaces, he'd see the image of Sadako staring at him with angry, eyes. Eventually someone found him dead, his face contorted as if he suffered a truly agonizing fear moments before he died. when he was autopsied, the doctors finds that he has a mutated form of the Chicken Pox virus.

I love this site....ive been waiting 4 something
like this...I own just about every worthy horror
movie there is..."exorcist" "evil dead" phantasm,
the list goes on...but there is nothing that compares to the power of "Ringu" and "juhon".
im 34 yrs old and cant watch it by myself.
i cant look at the tv when its off,if im home alone...im ****ed for life.

Recently i heard about Rasen, and looked that word up at imdb. This gave a japanese movie from 1998 and a japanese tv-series from 1999. I am not at all a ring-expert. Can anyone tell me why i at imdb see "Rasen" as japanese and in here described as korean? Also i want to know if the series edition of "Rasen" (www.imdb.com/title/tt0237982) has anything to do with The Ring? If so, where can i find it?

Well i like the remake of ringu but thay dident keep tru to ringu. the remake of dark water was ok but i dident think it was that good. but i love ringu. i have 1-4 on dvd.but on the manga, is birthday the same as ringu 0?

Most films are easy to comprehend when you see it in the beginning but this 3 Ringu film really quite unique. You're going to watch all the movie so that you will understand the sequel itself. It's definitely shocking and also horrifying.

Ring & Ring 0 both get 5 stars, and platinum ones too.

Best ever horror film? People have different views. I think for me, Ring is the scariest.

Ring 2 was a very slight disappointment, but Ring 0 was excellent. Not as scary as Ringu, but it was a brilliant drama and a very sad tale.

The Remake? It was good, but again I didn't find it as scary as the original. To be fair, I think much depends upon which version you watched first.

I watched Ringu and Ringu 2 last year and I think they are great!!! The Ringu films are quite possibly the best films I have ever seen! However, the American versions, lost the essence of the films' fear factor somewhere. I eagerly look foward to, Hideo Nakatas' future work.
