I arrived at An Thoi, January 1967 as a second class yeoman. Shortly after went to Advisory Team 55 in Rach Gia and Kien An. Then back and forth between An Thoi and Rach Gia until I left in August 1968.

U.S.N. River Patrol Section 521 (PBR) Jun\'67-Jun\'68

Operation Sea Tiger 1969: I was one of the unfortunate PBR sailors that first patrolled the Cua Dai in late \'67. Our 10-boat Section was shot up pretty bad over the course of our 10 days/nights there. 2 years later a concentrated effort completed our mission-thanks to ALL PCF Swifties

I was in country on several Swifts but most of the time on PCF-5 from Jan. 68 to Feb. 69. I received orders when I was on the U.S.S. Albany in Oct. 70 back to RVN during the Vietnamization of the war. I got out instead and returned to the Navy in 1977. I served on many ships after my return finally retiring from the Navy on U.S.S. Boxer as the CIC Officer. I became an elementary school teacher after that. I miss the Navy every day but am now enjoying my retirement.

I have been searching for many years for any of the crew of a Patrol Boat that operated north of DaNang. Call sign was \"Bearnet Charley\' or \"Baronet Charley\"...I always assumed it was a Navy craft, but recently was advised it might have been one of yours. I was part of a Marine Recon team that would get resupplied by this boat along the coast anywhere north of Hai Van pass area. usually required us to \'borrow\' a buffalo boat and get out beyond the surf and meet the patrol boat in the middle of the night...This would have been in April/May of 68\'. I was a gunner for the Seawolves and flew many cover and scramble missions for the boats. I was on Det. 7 located at Ben Luc our AO was in the Tay Ninh and Moc Hoa area, we moved to Dong Tam sometime around Sept. of 1970 our compound was set back from the banks of
Route 66 which both you and we had many missions and ambushes. Just wanted to sign in and give my respect to you for the job that y\'all did. If I brassed anyone on the boats I apologize.
