I need some help with inexpensive ideas for National Volunteer Week. I'd like to do something small for every day of the week. We are also having our annual recognition dinner that week and we're planning a garden theme for that. Ideas for the rest of the week could follow that or not. I appreciate any help you can offer.

One year I gave each volunteer a small plastic flower pot, with a small ziploc bag of soil, and a packet of seeds. Enclosed was a message something like: "Thank you for helping our school grow!" or "Volunteers like you help our school grow!"

What does your organization do exactly? What kind of work does your volunteers do? That could help with suggestions for something small each week.

We are a nursing home and our volunteers help with a variety of tasks. Some volunteers help residents with meal, some assist the hairdresser, some assist with activity programs and some help out in the office. Hope this helps.
