Thanks Gretchen,

That's really nice, and I may use it on a scroll for the volunteers...I appreciate your reply.

Re: Re: lifesaver package

Hi Gretchin:
This is my first visit to this website. I want to thank you so much for this volunteer poem. I will be giving it to the people who volunter for Heartland Hospice. I appreciate new information and new volunteer coordinator friendships!

Re: Re: lifesaver package

A Volunteer Thank You Bag
A Mint: because you are worth a "mint"
A Band-Aid: to aim us as we attend to our community
A Candy Kiss: because everyone needs daily T.L.C.
A Life-Saver: because you are always willing to help us and each other
A Rubber Band: to bind us together as we work toward a common goal
Tye or write the poem up, fill a small bag with the listed items. makes for a cheap and well appreciated gift.

Re: lifesaver package

Hi..if you haven't already found this...
"Volunteer, thanks for carrying the baton for the team and going the EXTRA mile. Your presence is a LIFESAVER and worth 100 GRAND. Life is sweeter because of the TREASURES of your time and caring."

Re: lifesaver package

Carol-here's a poem for volunteers:
Thank You
You may not have a lot to give
in terms of wealth and power
But what you give to me outweighs
the rich man's ivory tower
The good times and laughter
the memories and the fun
The fellowship and trusting
can not by gold be won.
The atime, the love, the willingness (atime correct here)
to help where needed
These gifts to me are priceless
and they do not go unheeded
When life's unfair nad I despair
and feel I cannot cope
When I come close to giving up,
abandoning all hope
That's when I count my blessings
and shed the cloak of fear
That's when I feel so priviliged
I Thank you-VOLUNTEER!

Also: V aluable is the work you do
O utstanding is how you always come through
L oyal, sincere and full of good cheer,
U ntiring in your efforts throughout the year
N otable are the contributions you make.
T rustworthy in every project you take.
E ager to reach your every goal.
E ffective in the way you fulfill your role.
R eady with a smile like a shining star,
S pecial and wonderful-that's what you are.

I hope these help. I received these from somewhere-author unknown-as far as I know.

Nestle Butterfinger candybar
"We are NUTS about you" Marshmellow circus peanuts
"You are a great catch for our (Program name)!"
Goldfish tiny crackers by Pepperidge Farms

Cracker Jacks caramel corn
"You are such a SWEETART! Thanks for volunteering!"
Sweetart candies
"We would be in a crunch without our volunteers!"
Nestle Crunch bar
"This place would be a zoo with our terrific volunteers!"
Animal cracker
"When I think of great volunteers, your name keeps popping up!" Popcorn bags

You might want to buy this really helpful catalog by the name of "TREAT 'EM RIGHT!" Tasty ideas for encouraging volunteers by Susan Cutshall. It has some really great ideas.
