You are all so talented and creative, that I'm wondering if anyone has ideas for "Volunteers are a Work of Heart" theme? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I do the volunteer appreciation breakfast at our school for 300 volunteers. This year my theme was Volunteers are a work of Heart. We allow them to bring their kids to the breakfast as they are the main reason for most of them to volunteer. They all made (as a family) heart shaped sun catchers. I got the hearts from Oriental Trading Craft Catalog for very cheap, and I bought the precut tissue paper squares for them to glue to the backs of the hearts. On the front they put their family name with glitter glue and we hung them all up in our school Learning Center. The kids loved seeing them when they came into the LRC and the parents would look for them when they were in helping out too. At the end of Volunteer Week, the kids brought them home. It was a really nice and easy item for them to make!
