Re: Hottest Scene

Sorry, it took so long to answer.
Anyways Gena, I guess you were here before me but as they say, everything is fair in love and war and its ok if you play dirty, I play dirty too, lol, just playing, well, I think there is enough Victor for both of us and I'm gonna be fair because you were here before me and I'm gonna share him with you, see how nice I am? now you can have him three days a week and I have him four, and I want the weekends, so you can have him on monday, tuesday and wednesday, come on, you cant ask for more than that, 3 full days with him, I know, I know, I'm such a good person, you can thank me later

Re: Hottest Scene

Hmm... dear sister it looks like you and Meli get to play

Re: Hottest Scene

hey meli..i will make a deal with you 3days for me and 3 days for you....the last one he rests..(for 1/2 the day, then we alternate the snd half of the day with each other)

Re: Hottest Scene

Stayed up till 2am to finish reading TB&H, the hottest scene was most certainly Bastien eating the trifle from Terri That was sooo hot

Re: Hottest Scene

That sounds very reasonable Gena. I do believe we have a truce.

Acal wasn't it worth staying up that late? I think so. What's a little loss sleep in pursance of the Argeneaus saga.

Re: Hottest Scene

Oh yeah.. and I'm doing it again got 80 pages left in SWV

Re: Hottest Scene

Bastien is so hot....in that book. He is so sweet...I hate that he had to loose her, and spend that time alone and upset before she came back to him!
my heart ached for him!

Re: Hottest Scene

I know that was painful to read! Poor Bastien, just like Lucern and Etienne

Re: Hottest Scene

Well it did make the reunion that much sweeter though. Not that I want my Lucern to suffer though.

Re: Hottest Scene

I know, Terri and Bastien's reunion was so sweet

Re: Hottest Scene

I can't remember what thread it was in, but there was a discussion on Lora Leigh's stuff and YIKES! I just went and looked at them at the bookstore.. scary covers! Theres a naked woman with her hands tied behind her back! (Not that I wouldn't mind reading them.. its the covers.. I read my books on the hour train journey to university.. but yikes! thats soo not suitable and would embrass anybody..) I think i'm just going to get the ebook versions..

Re: Hottest Scene

Acal,

I think someone posted about this once before...somewhere... but there are these books covers that you can get, just plain leather or something, to put over paperbacks. I don't know where they sell them but I imagine if you asked at a bookstore they could help you find one.

I know exactly what you mean about the covers of some books. Some of the historicals, with the half naked couple... I have an impressionable 8-year-old girl who is very bright, loves to read, and always wants to know what I'm reading. I do not! want to have to explain to her yet about what the people on the cover of Mom's book are doing! I am soooo not ready to have the the birds and the bees talk. Do they use that expression in Australia? Just curious. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Anyway, I have always thought about getting one of those covers and just haven't found the time. I just read those books when the little ones are safely in bed. Then I just have to deal with my husband rolling his eyes at the cover and/or title.

I'm glad you finally have all of your books! At least, I think you do. I saw that you read SWV and TD and H. Do you have the complete set now?

Kimberly

Re: Hottest Scene

I have the whole set now I've bought some of Lynsay's Ebooks though, got some of her historicals I plan on reading sometime this week. If I like them enough i'll go and get the paper book

Re: Hottest Scene

Ummm.... I recommended Lora Leigh's books. But in all honesty the books that I bought do NOT have women all tied up. I know in different countries they have different covers then here in states. Sorry if I embarrased anyone, wasn't my intention

Re: Hottest Scene

Kim, I know what you mean, my 4 year old is always looking at the covers of my books and asking questions and wants to know what the book is about. I try not to read some books around her with the couple on the cover almost naked I mean what do you tell a 4 year old about that? I have heard of the book covers before and I think my mom even made some cloth ones once for one of her sisters but I have yet to get one or try making one, I don't think it would be too hard to make though.

Jodi

Re: Hottest Scene

Heh, its alright Jill its a different series which pretty much is just plain smut (.. not exactly plain either..)

Re: Hottest Scene

The books covers are very simple to make if you don't care if they aren't fancy. I just use single layer of fabric (with the "pockets" to tuck the cover in), no quilting and put handles and a ribbon marker on mine. I've only made them for myself but the lady at my UBS is trying to get me to make some for her to sell in the store. She has people coming in asking about them all the time.

There are some handmade covers for sale on Ebay. Just search for book covers.

Re: Hottest Scene

Okay now I feel very embarrased. Please don't think I was recommending smut. The books I was talking about were paranormal romance and they do get a little racy but I wouldn't call them that. I haven't read any of her other books but I do know she has other series.

Re: Hottest Scene

HEY JILL DON'T WORRY...

some real strong conservatives think that Lynsay's are smutt....to each, his own. thats why there are so many writters...everyone has different tastes!

Re: Hottest Scene

Well I know better than to recommend books. I usually end up putting my foot in my mouth. I guess that is why I was blessed with such a big mouth.

Now I am gonna change the subject because I am seriously uncomfortable. and actually say something on topic. I know shocker....

I was reading TDH and I forgot how powerful the scene with Bastien and Terri and the desert was. Whew...cold shower time.

By the way what is in a trifle anyway?

Re: Hottest Scene

Its ice cream, custard, jelly and preserved fruits

That was a really intense scene

Re: Hottest Scene

Well that makes that scene that much better. "There is always room for dessert".

Re: Hottest Scene

There certainly is

Re: Hottest Scene

Don't worry about it Jill. It's fine to recommend a book series you enjoy to others. Then, it's their decision on whether they want to read it. I have friends who would not approve of any of my romance books...Lynsay's included. They are very conservative, and so are my dh and I about things we consider important. I respect others' decision, as long as they don't bother me about what I read or do not read.

I asked my dh, and he sees nothing wrong with the romance books that I read or me being on this forum. Or reading mysteries, or fantasies, etc. Many of our friends would not read the Harry Potter books. On the other hand, there are a couple of fantasy series that I don't read, because I don't agree with the author's perspective and what the books are about. I make that decision though...not someone else trying to tell me what is right or wrong.

I know what my religious beliefs & faith is about and what my morals and values are, and I'm not brainwashed. God gave me a brain to think on my own...so I read what I want and judge for myself if it is suitable. The only other person's opinion that matters is My Frog Prince's...and that is because he is my lifemate.

Re: Hottest Scene

I checked out the Breeds books and they look very interesting.. I love that sort of thing, thats what got me into Kelley Armstrong's stuff her most sensual and passionate book is Bitten the first one, she can put a lot more energy and passion into her werewolf characters then she can with any of her other characters

Re: Hottest Scene

Thank you everyone. I wasn't trying to make a big deal about this. Like I said before usually I try not to recommend books mainly because the books I like are not everyone's cup of tea.

But I have appreciated the recommendations of others and already am looking into a couple new series that look enjoyable.

So that I don't hound this subject to death....honestly I really can't decide which is the hottest sccene in Lynsay's books. I thought definetly Thomas and Inez in the bathroom. And then there was Lucian and Leigh. But as read them again I love Lucern and Kate even though it had a comical tone to it too.

Re: Hottest Scene

The condoms!

I thought the trifle scene with Bastien and Terri was really scorching

Re: Hottest Scene

"WHAT SIZE!!!"....uugghhhh! "ALL OF THEM!"

it was classic!

Re: Hottest Scene

I love the scene in the bathroom between Thomas and Inez. When he tries to carry her out and knows he is not gonna make it. I am turning red just typing this.

Re: Hottest Scene

Somebody bring me a

Re: Hottest Scene

Jill, I liked that scean too. and Inez thinking he had to stop because she was too heavy! I really liked her character because she seemed to worry about normal things women worry about, like when she was wondering if her legs were too *******

Re: Hottest Scene

oops spelling, "scene"

Re: Hottest Scene

I know that what I loved too. I thought that part about the legs was hysterical because that was my worst fear too.

Re: Hottest Scene

mine too.....i loved that her fears were real....over weight, and hairy legs...it was so funny!

Re: Hottest Scene

You know what? Men have it so easy. What do they have to shave? Their face? Not even that necessarily if they are into the scruffy look.

Not Fair!

Re: Hottest Scene

Well here family name certainly fit that trait, Urso, Portuguese for Bear, Also the name for the alpha male bear. (I belive.. not really sure on that though) The Ursa, alpha female bear is the den leader, female bears are the most dominant.

Well I don't think Thomas would have minded She could have cavewoman hair and he wouldn't care

Re: Hottest Scene

There should be a poll feature! So we could decide which was the hottest scene!

Re: Hottest Scene

Too many to decide. I keep coming up with more.

Re: Hottest Scene

Just like M&M's. Or is that Lays

Re: Hottest Scene

The word trifle always makes me think of the episode of friends where Rachel has to make one and the pages get stuck together in the recipe book and she combines the recipe with the one for Sheperd's pie!

I hate Sheperd's pie. For those who don't know it's a meat pie made with gravy, ground beef, peas and mashed potatoes. At least that was my mom's version of it. I still remember refusing to eat it and having to stay at the dinner table until after 8:00pm (dinner was at 5:00) until I ate it all. I managed by not chewing and drinking a lot of milk to wash it down with. I detest that stuff!

I've never had trifle but it has always sounded great! I'll have to look up some recipes and get one of those special glass dishes so that you can see the layers.

My next baking project is to make chocolate chip cookies for my son to take in to his kindergarten class for his birthday this week. He doesn't want cupcakes, just cookies. I do have a great recipe for C.C. Cookies. I use a shortening-based recipe rather than butter and I've always liked it better. It's the one my mom always used to make so that's probably why.

Re: Hottest Scene

the Sheperds pie I like and make is ground beef, creamed corn and mashed potatoes. mmmm sounds good might have to make that tomorrow for supper

Re: Hottest Scene

Sounds good Jodi.

Re: Hottest Scene

Shepherds pie sounds like the pasties that they serve in my area. I'm not a huge fan though. You either love or hate them here there is no half way mark.

Re: Hottest Scene

jodie, creamed corn...never done that, it sounds good though...how do you keep it from getting to runny?

Re: Hottest Scene

Gena, it doesn't get runny at all but then I guess it depends on how much creamed corn you add. but I put cooked hamberger on the bottom (no gravy) then can of creamed corn last add potatoes. then you bake it in the oven to make sure corn is hot and potatoes brown a bit on top. it is really dry without creamed corn but I have had it with just regular canned corn. This is the only kind of Shepherds pie I have ever had, maybe it is a Nova Scotian thing as I have learned we have some different ways of making things like stuffing we don't make it with just bread but with potatoes as well, does anyone else make it like this?

Re: Hottest Scene

Back on topic..

How long do you think Victor, Lucian and Thomas would last locked in a bedroom with you girls?

Re: Hottest Scene

With or without toys?

Well if it was me, Gena and Cindy. Not very long. At least Victor and Lucian wouldn't. Thomas may fare better. He isn't my favorite.

We probably last as long as you would with Lissi.

Re: Hottest Scene

not long... right sisters???

Re: Hottest Scene

I think it seriously depends on the amount of reading material I have.
