Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Really its not our fault, its the Argeneau mens fault for being so gorgeous, so of course our mind will wander a little! I think we need more men on here, to focus on the women! x

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Mmmm...Clive Owen, huh? Good thinking, Mr. Spice!
Have we had a hint yet as to who book ten is about?

Well, with a little imput of the household of males I live with, I have come up with some nominations for our ladies. (I just described some of the lifemates looks and characteristics, and they helped a little. They think it's so funny that I'm so caught up in this little game we have going.)

Kate:
Jenna Elfman...she was Dharma on the tv show "Dharma & Greg." Can't you just see her under the table at the RT convention, or robbing a blood bank? She is so good at playing romantic comedy realistically, and she is so beautiful, too. She is my favorite for Kate.

Nicole Kidman...I don't think there is much I have to say about her, other than she would be a good Kate as a blonde or a good Rachel as a redhead. She is always amazing.

Gwenyth Paltrow...she just has such a mischievious smile. I don't think I'm spelling her first name correctly, but most of us know her.

Katherine Heigl...I think she is on "Grey's Anatomy,"
but I don't know much about her.

Terri:
Jessica Alba...My dear honey's choice (He says she's hot) Anne Hathaway, Rose McGowan (A favorite of my younger son) or possibly Ashley Judd. Rose is slender, 5'4", but she has the soft eyes/full lips and dark wavy hair, and she is good at being "playful."

Rachel:
Amber Tamblyn, Bryce Dallas Howard, or Alicia Witt, or Laura Prepon (Donna from "That 70's show.) Laura might be able to portray Rachel's attitude well, especially with Lucian and Pudge. She is tall, but not with the willowy look, and she looks good as a redhead.

Jackie:
Kristin Bell, Elisha Cuthbert, or Emilie de Ravin...All of these actresses are tiny & petite, and could probably do the "slightly hard edge" aspect of the character. I really think Drew Barrymore would be a great Jackie...she is short & curvy, and she will change her hair to fit a role, so she is my pick.

Leigh:
Jennifer Love Hewitt...again a choice of my dh,
Alyssa Milano...his second choice, or Rachel Bilson...not a choice of my dh:)but I thought she might be okay. Also, Holly Marie Combs...my sons are insisting I put all the "Charmed" girls somewhere, and she was my favorite.

For mixed-up, mean girl Lily:
Christina Ricci or Wynona Ryder...I think either could do her justice, but I thought of Christina first. Maybe, Shannen Doherty...she is tiny, and with a wig or lighter hair, she could play the waif-like Lily who completely goes over the edge.(Plus, she was a "Charmed" girl.) Come to think of it, Shannen might be a really good choice.

Other thoughts:
Gwenyth Paltrow...It's possible she would be a great Marguerite/Lissianna if one actress played both, because she is such a wonderful actress.

I can't think of a Lissianna without a Marguerite. I'm going to have to defer to Lynsay on our Argeneau matriarch, or fellow casting agents on the board who may have some ideas. I keep thinking Marguerite is very petite, but isn't she tall?

Fellow casting agents and Mr. Spice, please submit your thoughts.

Now that I've submitted a list of potential "girls" for our series, I think I'll go back to thinking about our guys!

Also, can you believe I went into Barnes & Noble last Saturday, and did not buy a book for me? It was my oldest son's birthday, and he loves to read. My dh was astonished that I didn't come out with anything other than birthday gifts and a book for school. I told him I was waiting for Christmas...actually the day after...and I would be reading all winter!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Hi Dave,

I typed a nice long post suggesting actresses, but it's not here. The message seems to have gone into posting oblivion, even though the date and numbers changed on the board. I'm trying to post this to see what happens. I emailed admin@lynsaysands.net, cause not sure of the problem.

Renee

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Great set of ladies. I like Ashley Judd. And I think Angelina Jolie could do justice as one of the ladies.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Just seeing if the board let's me post a message here now. If so, I'll type my original message that would not post earlier tomorrow.

Renee whose head is spinning in confusion...a computer techie, I am not!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Heh Wren I had that problem a while ago which resulted in double posts like yours. Think the board just has a bit of a cold and is feeling under the weather.

xx

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

book 10.. Clive Owen.... Mr Spice you tease!
What did you and Mrs Spice think of Juliette Binoche for Margarette?

I am trying to think of someone worthy of the Ladies. I will have to think on it.
How about Reese Witherspoon?

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Yes, Linda, I think our Mr. Spice enjoys getting his teasing in, cause he always gets to know all about the books first!! Author's proof-reader priviledge, know what I mean.

Well, I feel pretty silly I kept thinking nothing would post, not realizing that this thread has moved on to a second page. Luckily, our dear Lynsay, Dave, & Terri figured things out for me quickly! Ignore any double posts, please, and pouts about my posts not working. I think it's time for me to take a computer class. Oh, and give up typing messages in the wee hours of the morning so that what wits I do have are actually working!

I think Juliette Binoche has a Marguerite look, Linda.
I'm leaving it to our Spices, you and fellow casting agents to come up with Marguerite and Lissianna. Marguerite is so important to the whole family that I find it too hard to decide, and I don't see how we can pick Lissianna without her. Or the other way around...

Although she is pretty with the full lips & soft eyes, I'm not a big Angelina Jolie fan, though I don't really know why. She's okay, but I never tend to watch her movies. Maybe I just have a hard time seeing her as a romance/comedy actress, and always think of her in action/drama roles. Just a personal opinion, because I know she is a popular actress and talented in the roles she has played. That's what it is...I seldom select an action-type flick, and my dear husband claims he hasn't seen a scary movie since he met me. I'm a huge chicken ...and he is exaggerating, mostly.

Time to go...Renee

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Denise, Angelina Jolie has the right look for Terri or might could be Marguerite. Yeah, I know I said I wasn't going to suggest a Marguerite, but Angelina is a beauty. Also, I think Sarah Chalke might make a good Lissianna, especially beside Angelina. They are about the same age and height.

I also think Amy Adams might make a good Rachel, except she is not very tall. It's too bad Lindsay Lohan has messed up her life so bad, because at one time she was a good actress with a lot of potential.

Just more thoughts...

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

We were watching Ugly Betty the other night, which I think is the best thing on TV right now - and considered Eric Mabius the actor who plays Daniel Meade for either Vincent or Thomas.

Any takers?

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Oooh, I vote for Thomas! This actor just has that something...I am going to have to start watching TV again.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Oh I am so mad, I missed out on this one. I didn't start getting into the forum untill recently...

I still have to put my 2cents in though, because thats the way I am!!

Has anyone seen the movie 300...how about the guy who plays the lead in it, for Lucien.
plus, I personally think Sean Connery should be in there somewhere just because he's so yummy!!!!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

I haven't seen that movie, but how could we have left out Sean Connery?

This was super fun while we were waiting for Christmas & the new books!! Mr. Spice was a really good sport about getting in on it with us, and Lynsay chimed in a couple of times between writing books.

btw, Welcome to the forum!

Renee

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

thanks...I am having fun trying to play catch up, I just wish I knew about it sooner.

btw, hi to everyone else! I am new!!!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

OMG!!!! So I was reading Accidental Vampire and it occured to me who should play Elvi Black while reading her description. Elvi is about 5"3 with a curvy body and red hair. I think the perfect person is Isla Fisher. She is beautiful and also stands at 5"3, has a curvy, and is a natural redhead. I think she is perfect and my second choice is Amy Adams since they look so a like. What do you guys think?

Here is a link of pictures of her

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

hey what about a crazy over the top person like Brad Pitt(like he was in "fight club") for Vincent,

and Milla Jovovich (the girl from the resident evil movies)as Jackie Morrisey PI.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Not Gary Oldman as Lucien. No, no, no, no!

For one thing he's too old now. And he's too weird. A great actor but a weirdo.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Sorry, I hit post too fast.

No offense to the posters who like Gary Oldman or to the actor himself but I don't think he has the right stuff at all. Not for the Argeneaus as I picture them.

I think it would be very difficult to cast the Argeneaus with known actors. There are very few out there who have the height and the builds and the colouring. And they'd have to be young.

I think good unknown actors would be better.

Although a beefed up Keanu (a la Speed) with silvery blue contacts would make a good Lucern or Bastien.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Connie....even beefed up he isn't big enough for the Argenaeu roles....But what about as GREG, ( a little serious, a little quiet at first)

I don't know if any of you have kids that watch the disney chanel, but there are a pair of twins
Allie & AJ, they sing and act..I could see them as the twins, that were at lissiana's birthday.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

How about Tom Cruise? He could always wear stacked heels.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Mr Spice, that's just cruel! Ick. I still haven't gotten over him being cast as Lestat.

Keanu is over 6 foot! 6'1" maybe? I guess that's still too short but maybe it wouldn't be noticeable if all the women cast were normal heights instead of model height!

I didn't read all the suggestions, has anyone mentioned Gerry Butler?

Nathaniel Parker in his younger days would have been great.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Mr Spice, I thought we were trying to find tall, intimadating, hunky guys (like you or my hunsband!! ) (yea, I was a big brown noser in school!!)
I don't think Tom Cruse needs to be in any movies ever again, I really didn't like him as lestat, and he was supposed to be full of himself)

ps-> how do I get on this news letter, I keep hearing about?? I would love to be on the list if I can.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Hi Gena,

Go on Lynsay's website, look at the For Readers area, and you should find a place to sign up for the newsletter! That's all it takes. It's great, because they run contests, have great crosswords that Mr. Spice puts together for us, and Emma or Terri tell us what's happening at Spice Acres with Lynsay & Dave. Also, it keeps us up to date on any news that we may have missed or changes that come up regarding books.

hth, wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

NO NO NO to Tom Cruise...He is NOT Argeneau or Enforcer material. Can you tell I'm not a fan of the rather obnoxious, imo, Mr. Cruise?

Stating outright that this is not a humble opinion, I really cannot stand him and I have my reasons why.

Renee

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Forgot to add that I absolutely LOVE Gary Oldman! He doesn't have to be Lucien. I see him now as a great Victor!!

Mr. Spice, I still want to "bring on the Brits!"

Of course, I've posted on this topic so much that you know all of my faves!

I guess I'm at the age where I don't see many of the young guys as the actors I dream of...and even Lynsay though Alan Rickman was great for Lucern.

wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

For some reason I don't see Brad Pitt as Vincent. I kind of like Brad Pitt best in Legends of the Fall, even though that was such a sad, depressing movie. But he had the long blond hair & was kind of wild...don't know who he would fit as an Argeneau

As for Thomas, whoever is the cover model for Vampires Are Forever looks just like Thomas stepped off the pages. That doesn't make him an actor, but he just has the right look!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

How about having Simon Cowell guest starring as an evil vampire?

And Lynsay needs to write some more characters so we can have Jackie Chan and Wesley Snipes in the series too.

And how about Mike 'Austin Powers' Myers playing Pudge from Love Bites?

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Good choices, Mr. Spice! I'm all for Lynsay writing more characters in future books, so we can add more actors to our growing list!!

Mike Myers would be an excellent "Pudge." He is not generally one of my favorite actors, but I think he could really put this character together.

Who are we going to cast as "Morgan?"

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

** really a dork now in right thread** Ok I'm really a dork. I keep wondering why this was beeing set up as new........ second page.. geesh...
now I have to get caught up. I still say bring on the brit's!!! Wren making me feel better she didnt notice either. ....

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

MR. Spice....I love the idea of Wesley Snipes, but I thik we will add him later as an Enforcer.

Wren...What about Brad Pitt as Thomas. ( like Fight Club, w/ the crazy retro 70's outfits)or even as Lucern. (acting like he was in MEET JOE BLACK!)

BTW, If you didn't guess with my last post, I am total aggremment with you on Tom Cruise, (never liked him never will!!!)

G.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Gena, yes I did see your comment on Tom Cruise, and thought we think alike so often!! I never really saw his appeal, and in the last couple of years comments he made in the media were very offensive imo.

Linda...we'll just be *dorks* together. Like I posted on the other thread, when we put our posts together, we know what we are talking about! Even if we can't figure out where the posts are showing up on the forum! Great minds think alike, and brilliant minds don't have time for the mundane! LOL

wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Gena, I could see Brad Pitt as a possible Thomas. He would have to go back to the "look" and character acting he did a few years ago, but he has the talent to accomplish it!

wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

How about Jack Black as Pudge? I think he'd be a hoot!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

I was thinking Paul Walker for Etienne and Isla Fisher for Elvi. What do you think? I think both would be perfect.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

JUST CHIMMING IN>>>>>
I read ealier someone (and I am sorry I don't remember who) said DYLAN NEAL from BLOOD TIES, to me he would be a perfect BASTIEN!!(clean cut, serious, confident)

SORRY WREN, topher grace...is not argenaeu material, to me. for me he would work as the guy Lissiana stuffed behind the garbage can in the begining of LOVE BITE!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

yea, you know....the one with the cucumber!!!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Gena, I don't think Topher was one of my suggestions...but I think he did come up when we were trying to think of a few American actors. Even the Americans I came up with just can't cut it. Maybe we will just have to let them be the bad guys or the rogues. Hmmm, kind of sad when you can't think of any of your own to be the fantastic Argeneaus, and I would have to add now, the Nottes also.

I do like Johnny Depp who is an American, because I always like Johnny Depp no matter what, but he & his family live in France. I haven't come up with who he would play, though. I read recently that he is one of the nicest actors of all about giving autographs and being pleasant to his fans. Some magazine that rates actors, etc., but as usual, I read it on the internet.

Like I told Mr. Spice (and Linda agrees with me) Just Bring On The Brits!! Dave found it a bit amusing that almost everyone's nominations for the males were British actors. All I can say is, we know who we like!

wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Yeah, I think Topher could be a good "cucumber guy."
Can't remember that character's name at the moment...just remember Lissianna kept calling him by a different name. Wait, he is Dwayne, but she keeps calling him Bob. My niece is in the living room reading A Quick Bite now!

wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

I think Dylan Neal would make a great Bastien and he's Canadian! How perfect is that? Too bad Karl Schmid has a small stature, he'd make a great Argeneau too. And he's another Canadian.

Can you guess my nationality?

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Wren ,I got it!!!
I love Johnny Depp, he comes up with so many persona for his characters.....he is our Vincent..THE ACTOR!!..couldn't you just see him in Bastien's living room, playing dracula, with a goofy cape!!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

^^^^ lol! I see it, but it's johnny a little small framed to be one of the Argeneau's? but johnny is pretty hott so maybe it doesn't even matter.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

andrea, normally I would agree, but the is always exceptions of the rule. I will give one to Johnny...besides, I know Vincent, he is tall and wide shoulders, (like the Argenaeu men are,) but for some reason in Tall, Dark and Hungry when he is parading around like a cheesy dracula, I keep picturing someone a little bit smaller.

We can say, its the actor in him, don't they gain and drop weight to get parts??

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Also, remember that Marguerite was a little concerned because Vincent had lost weight. If I remember right he told Jackie he had become tired of the hunt.

I agree, exceptions can be made...and Johnny Depp is too yummy not to make an exception.

For one of the "younger" immortals or enforcers, what about Drew Fuller? He played Chris on Charmed, and he has been in a couple of recent movies. I don't keep up with movies much, so I forget which ones.

wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

wern he was in The Ultimate Gift in 2006 and The Circuit (2008) (TV) (post-production). But I agree he was good as Chris. He has that certain something

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

He does, Cindy. Now, who would he play, or are we going to have to wait for the new books to
decide.

wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Wren lets wait. Because if we put him as one something better may come along that is better suited for him. We all know he can brood well and play a bad person. He also has a sense of humor.

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

I totally agree you should wait, I loved charmed..I still watch the reruns.
He was good at seeming like he was playing both sides, something tells me, that there is going to be an ENFORCER who will do something like that..I AM TOTALING GUESSING HERE!

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

I agree with you both!

wren

Re: Not all Vampires are bad!

Gena
I am with you on the show. I have all 8 seasons. As I am typing it is on TNT.
