Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

ok yea we've been arguing over you two for the longest time over creativity and origionality. it's a real pain who honestly wins this? btw are you friends with christine, lynsay? you two kinda look alike
^____________^ i like your hair better though

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

(sorry)
we = me and my freind Anna. I flew to maryland to visit my friends ^_^ she's the only one who's parents will let me stay with them for 2 weeks. but yea its late at night and she's reading me one of her books from the dark series and yea im being closed minded but she writes too morbid >< your books flow a lot lighter. you just expect a joke to be pulled at some point while christine writes like something's gonna jump out of an alley way and eat you

plus her character Gregori is the meanest guy ever. never have i heard the opening of a sex scene begin with "let's get this over with before i change my mind"
anyway anna and i could post our arguements for a long while but we'll save you the time and let you use your imagination ^_^

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

Yes Christine is a freind. She's a sweetie, by the way. A perfectly lovely lady. And yes her stories are darker than mine, but then they are called the Dark series and there are a lot of people who don't care for my lighter version but prefer the dark sort. Shrug. To each their own. But I'm glad you're enjoying them.

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

Now see I like some of Christine's Dark series. Some of them I feel like are just the same story with the names changed to protect the innocent, others are quite good. Sometimes I want the dark and sometimes I want the light. Just depends on my mood that day.

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

^_^ sounds reasonable. glad to know you're friends though somehow it made sense in a way... i suppsoe anna is just a dark person... or at least she's going out of her way to be one... ^_^ such a rebel with her parents and all, communication issues but of course the whole world seems to have trouble talking to one another cant we all get along and stuff?

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

I agree with Hayley, sometimes I feel like the "dark" romances of Feehan and other times its Lynsay's stuff I reach for. I consider both author's books "keepers" and they are valued editions in my collection.
I can't wait for November because not only does Lynsay have a new book out but Christine Feehan does too!!!
Roll on November! (at least I think its NOvember because living in Australia it takes a while even if you pre-order.

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

I like both Christine Feehan and Lynsay Sands. Sometimes I like the darker stories that Feehan write and Sometimes I in the mood for a laugh so I read Lynsay's books. Right I am waiting for November get here so I can read A Quick Bite.

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

Although I usually prefer darker stories, I much prefer Lynsay's writing to Christine Feehan's. And no, I'm not just saying that because this is Lynsay's site...

It's possible that I should give CF's books another chance, but I wasn't impressed with Dark Prince (1st in the Dark series). It's been a while since I read it so I can't quite put my finger on the reasons I didn't care for it, but I do know I wan't motivated to jump right into the 2nd book in the series. Maybe the rest of the series is better, with less annoying characters. I believe I bought the 2nd book when I bought the first (I HATE to start a series, love it, then have to wait for the next book -- if it's published, that is...) so maybe I'll give it another go one of these days.

No offense intended to Ms. Feehan -- I'm sure she's a lovely person.

Hey, maybe someone here can tell me if the rest of the series is better than Dark Prince.

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

OK, I'm answering my own (perhaps unspoken) question here... I've been reading more reviews for Christine Feehan's Dark Series, and I'm going to give it another chance. One reviewer said the first 3 books are a bit slow & the 4th one gets better. I can live with that.

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

I have to say that I really like the lighter stories. Love the sexy vamp thing. I love the humor and the way her stories unfold unto each other. And how the characters relate to each other. Love Marguerites meddling in her familys lives. It makes me want to keep coming back for MORE>
I also really like MJ Davidsons Undead's.
I guess its like chocolate....... some like dark and some like it lighter.......ummmmm chocolate

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

i think both authors are great. i have all the books avaliable from both Christine and Lynsay. i must say they are of different styles. Christine's storylines are towards the darker side of the immortal life with death constantly plaguing the characters. As for Lynsay's storylines, they are more towards the funny side of being an immortal. I read them both. Maybe on a cold raining night, we can read christine's story, and on a sunny sunday afternoon, we can relax and read Lynsay's. =D

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

I have read some Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters stories. I like them, but I feel that there is too much sex (like 10-15 pages or more?), which is the reason I didn't order the new one. So if the publisher makes the writer add more sex to novels it might also alienate readers...

From Lynsay I have the whole Argeneau series and I was so happy to hear that there will be at least four more books. I wasn't at all interested in vampire novels before Single White Vampire, because vampires were usually soulless undead demons so they were kind of scary. But I simply love Argeneaus! (No undeads there.)

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

I know what you mean Heli, about too much sex. I was reading a really good book a couple months ago but the sex kept getting in the way.

I don't mean to say I'm a prude or anything. The only reason my editors have to bug me to put in more sex is because I get caught up in the plot and forget to add it. But this book really could have been wonderful, but...well...it was like the sex was interfering with plot. You'd be racing along with this tense chase stuff and then, BANG, have to stop for a gratuitous sex scene. Barely get past that and back into the story and bang, another interruption for sex, then again and again and again and again and so on.

I started to get annoyed thinking, all right already, I get it, I fell in love with my hubby, Dave, and really, when you first fall in love it's hard to keep your hands off each other, but GEEEEES. I kind of felt like I was being cheated out of actual story, it was just filling up with sex sex sex and it was...er...four letter words sex everywhere. (Now this probably IS a bit prudish, but having **** repeated twenty times a page and c*nt and f*ck almost as many times just kind of throws me right out of the scene...I started to think the writer had penis envy she was throwing **** around so much. That's me, though. I don't think of cock, c*nt and f*ck as very romantic and so don't expect them in romances I guess...er...well, I did use **** in one of mine, but as a joke, a medieval hero told his innocent wife to stop calling his penis something and she asks what to call it and he says **** and she says it looks nothing like a rooster to her. Sorry.)

Anyway, as it turns out, with this book, it was all my own fault anyway. When I finally got really really annoyed and looked at one of the author quotes on the front of the book it said she was one of the best erotic writers of today. Well GEEES. I know they're making a move toward erotica in romance, but...

Hmmm, I'm ranting, or rambling. I should probably erase this. I'll come back and read it later and see if it needs erasing.

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

I know what you mean about the "F" word being used to much. Like in allot those action movies....this is my thoughts....when the "F" word is over used it is telling me the writer must not have to much of an imagination or vocabulary. I know I am a bit aged...but the "F" word offends me...I am not saying I have never used it...but I have to be very angry. Now my husband who is much a Mans Man...is more offended when it is used then I am...and he will not use it in front of women...and he is not a goody goody two shoes:) The sex scenes I like the best are the humorous ones...Like in "Always"...I mean I really like the gooey Kissie Kissie stuff too ...but I just like to see the funny side of sex once and a while...and Lynsay does it so well:)
I have tried to like Christine Feehands books but just can't get into them....So I would have to say Lynsay is my choice.

Re: Christine Feehan VS Lynsay Sands

I love ya both light and dark can be good, I cant simply choose
