Mailing List

There seems to be a problem with the bravenet mailing list in that a lot of people have complained that they applied and didn't receive a verification email after subscribing to it. This seems to be a problem with certain email addresses like hotmail, yahoo, aol and a couple others. If this is the case with you, just email me at admin@lynsaysands.net and I'll put you on a separate list myself

Re: Mailing List

I have a website that uses bravenet and we had this problem. We found that if members will add the address you are sending your emails from to their address book, they will not go to bulk. So, if your members will add admin@lynsaysands.net to their address books, they should get your mailings from now on. It's worth trying and seeing.

Re: Mailing List

This solution of adding the sender of the mailing to your address book doesn't work when you're not using Outlook for your eMail application. For instance I recently switched from Netscape mail to Firefox' thunderbird mail (brilliant), since then I haven't been able to receive messages from MSN groups. I'm sure that the problem is deeper than just an eMail client, it's about your ISP. MSN seems to block some ISPs, I'm not sure it's true, but it seems to be for me. It's a pity really that because people in general aren't willing to pay for any service on the Internet, the companies who provide free eMail services have to resort to tactics such as this service conflict.
Anyway, going to do some X-mas shopping, the sun is shining, it's freezing, so a cup of hot chocolate milk is on the agenda as well ;-)

Re: Mailing List

I use yahoo and it works.. might be the ISP then.

Re: Mailing List

Hmmm...sigh. I just know there were at least six names that showed up on the pending list and never got to the subscribers list. Wish I'd written them down before bravenet ate them once their week was up. I could put those people on the manual list.

Sigh. Unfortunately, I just didn't think of it till it was too late. I also tested it myself with a hotmail account and I never got the email to verify so the hotmail account isn't on the subscribers list. Anyway, I'll post here when I send out the next newsletter and anyone who wanted it and doesn't get it can let me know so I can put them on a list. Or, if they've subscribed and never got a verification email they had to click on they could email me now I guess.
