If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
I don't expect Lynsay to really use any of these but I thought it would be fun for us to post ideas for book titles for the vampire series.
Heard this song the other day and thought that it would make a good title "Another one Bites the Dust". So then I started thinking, what else could I come up with?
How about:
"At First Bite"
"One Good Bite Deserves Another"
"Where's a Vampire when you need one?"
"Not your Average Vampire" or "Not just your Average Vampire"
"The Vampire Strikes Back"
"Gentlemen Prefer Vampires" or "Vampires Prefer Blondes"
So, anyone else want to give it a try? It's kind of fun. Though I bet it's a lot harder for Lynsay when her editor is asking, "So, what's the title?"
Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
What a fantastic topic!!
As soon as my brain is not so mushy from this cold, I'll be joining in. I really like "The Vampire Strikes Back" or "The Vampire Bites Back" also. And they do fit in so well with the other take-offs on movie titles.
"Once Bitten" was supposed to be the title of Lucien's book. Most of us feel Avon messed up when they changed Lynsay's original title to "Bite Me If You Can." I still haven't figured out how that one fits the book, when all the others do. Oh, well...even good publishers make mistakes
Actually, Lynsay, I have preferred the titles you come up with. I think you are being too hard on yourself. "Once Bitten" and "The Accidental Vampire" were perfect for the books.

Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
Feel free to use any of them Lynsay! That would be so awesome!
Someone mentioned that the publisher changed one of your titles. Is this common or if you really kicked up a fuss, would they let you keep a favorite one? And how often do you come up with one and they say they don't like it?
Cindy, I really like "One Bite to Eternity"!
I'm glad everyone else finds this as amusing as I do.
Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
A Bite To Remember was originally titled Once Bitten by me or was it Bite Me If You Can? Actually I think it was Bite ME If You Can because Leigh was bitten and turned before she hooked up with Lucian. Anyway, I'm not sure how much pull I have with titles. Dave thinks I probably have some but I've never tried kicking up a fuss. I'm just grateful to be published and able to do this for a living.
Wren, honey, feel better soon. I hate being sick. Hugs and lots of sympathy is sent your way.
And you guys are coming up with some awesome titles. I think several would make great book titles. So, expect your name in print in the future in the dedication section. I will definitely ask permission and let you know ahead and get the proper details from those who just post their first names here. You guys are REALLY creative. WOW!!
Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
So I thought I'd look up a list of classic movies and see what I could come up with:
"Planes, Trains, and Vampires" (Planes, Trains, and Automobiles)

"The Return of the Vampire" (The Return of the King, from the Lord of the Rings)
"Vampires of the Caribbean" (Pirates of the Caribbean)
"The Vampire Redemption" (The Shawshank Redemption)
"The Vampire Element" (The Fifth Element)
"Good Vampire Hunting" (Good Will Hunting)
"The Good, The Bad, and the Vampire" (The Good, The Bad and the Ugly)
"A Few Good Vampires" (A Few Good Men)
These three are my favorites:
"Romancing the Vampire" (Romancing the Stone)
"Close Encounters of the Vampire Kind" (Close Encounters of the Third Kind)
"A Vampire of Her Own" (A League of Their Own)
The Trouble With Vampires (Hayley Mills' The Trouble With Angels)

Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
Kim,
Thanks! Well, since Lucien's already had his story, we do still have the reclusive, poor cursed with losing lifemates Armand that we all wonder about. Really would like to know more about him eventually!
Or, Lynsay may have another "grumpy old vampire" lurking in her brain somewhere!
Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
I've actually read a book by Kathy Love called "Fangs for the Memories." There are two more in this trilogy of brothers who are vampires, "Fangs but no Fangs," and "I Only Have Fangs For You." Her new book is "My Sister is a Werewolf," and is part of the same series. I've only read the first one, but I saw the werewolf book in B&N. It was in one of those larger paperback books, though, and they cost about $14.99...I'm only going to splurge on those for Lynsay's combos with Hannah Howell. Gotta keep your priorities straight, kwim?
I think Kathy Love is a fairly new published author who writes for Zebra and Brava. The book was lighthearted, and she shows potential as an author (trying to be fair & not do comparisons to our favorite author ) but at this time, would be more of a check-out at the library or trade with a friend book for me. But, the titles of Ms. Love's books were cute.
Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
Wow, Connie. I like a bunch of those. Okay, I'm having trouble remembering what has been suggested so I'm going to have to make an Excel file, LOL!
One Bite is Never Enough
One Bite Too Many
Bridge to Immortality
Last Vamp Standing (instead of Vampire maybe)
Vampires 101 (another story about a newly turned)
The Importance of Being Vampire (or Immortal)
A Room with a Vamp (or Bite)
Les Vampires
Last of the Vampires (though that has a bit of finality to it, oh wait, Katie Macalister had Last of the Red Hot Vampires)
Hitchhikers Guide to Immortality
Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
Just thought I'd bump this up. We have a lot of newbies and I thought they might have some fun with it!
Oh, and a possible title for when Lynsay writes a book about the vampire who doesn't use the Argeneau name because he wants to make it on his own:
The Vampire Identity (The Bourne Identity)
Also,
To Kill a Vampire (To Kill a Mockingbird)
Little Miss Vampire (Little Miss Sunshine)
I Am Vampire (I Am Legend)
Vampires in Black (Men in Black)
An American Vampire in Paris (An American Werewolf in Paris)
Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
***SPOILER WARNING***
The title is a play on the title, "Girl, Interrupted."
So, if you think about it this way, Marguerite's life as an immortal was interrupted by the three-on-one.
She lost all her memories of Julius and baby Christian, was kept isolated, and never grew in her strength to be somewhat free of Jean Claude...which she would have done if the three-on-one had never taken place. As she had grown older, she would have been able to block him from reading and controlling her, especially after being trained to do so. The events that Vita caused by getting Jean Claude and Morgan to do the three-on-one were tragic for everyone.
.
While Jean Claude wasn't ever a saint, I think he would have left Marguerite alone to be happy while he stayed hidden with his real lifemate, and her life would not have been "interrupted." His real lifemate being killed, and his participation in the three-on-one on Marguerite drove him over the edge...and he became a "mean drunk." I wonder if he kept Marguerite so isolated because he was afraid that she would remember something or that if she saw Julius, he would know something had happened to her. The only good that came out of the "interruption" was that Jean Claude did give Marguerite the children she so desparately wanted.
So, although it was against the law to have turned another, since he had turned and married Marguerite, in some ways, JC was as much a victim of Vita as Marguerite, Julius, Christian, and even Morgan.
Morgan? Well, yes...he only went rogue after his best friend died. When his lifemate refused to be turned until she was too old to survive the turning, and then Jean Claude was dead...he just didn't care anymore. He missed having Jean Claude there to help while the decades or centuries passed by...waiting & hoping to find another lifemate. Jean Claude could not stand to continue living as he had...the guilt and alcoholism had taken him too far. Much of JC's and Morgan's tragedy were their own doing, but being part of Vita's evil schemes ultimately contributed to their demise.
Julius was interrupted from 500 years of being with his true lifemate, and Christian was left without his mother. But, I think Marguerite is the one the title centers on, and even now the three-on-one keeps her from remembering her life with Julius and Christian before, which is kind of sad.
Re: If you could choose the title for one of Lynsay's vampire books....
So, Mr. Spice...do I get to help Lynsay with the screenplay? Actually, I think that is a really good Argeneau book title...
Deep, huh? Thank you, dear AE4 sisters! I do my best.

P.S. I just noticed...certain letters on my keyboard are fading away. Especially these L S A N D and C E...and the number 1/! key...they have almost disappeared. Hmmm...and there are a few others that look like they have been tapped quite often. I have a premonition about what could be causing it.
