after I found Bellerbys College (former Micklefield Wadhurst) on Google Earth I decided to do a little research about my old school I went to. It is a pitty that the school has been closed, I had such wonderful 3 years in this school. I'd love to know what happened to all the teachers. Mrs. Ginger? Mr. Ogilvie? Mr. Fraser? Ms.Beel? and all the others...It always brings a smile on my face when I think of those people!! Thanks for the best time of my young life! Many greetings Hanna |

I just read Teresa´s post from 2002 and feel like i just have to write something in this guestbook, too. I also went to Micklefield Wadhurst (Teresa´s Year) and had a great time there. I met some very special people and would be soooo glad to get in touch with them again. Maybe this way, i can find some of them (specially Louisa and Hannah: pleaaaase write to me if you read this. carlakrey@gmx.de . I still miss you guys :)) |

I was looking for information and pictures of Wadhurst College as I was a student there between 73-75. I lived at Aston House and have a lot of fun memories from that time. |

Wadhurst and Ticehurst are lovely places to visit, as are Stonegate and Flimwell. I would assume that they are great places to live as well. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. Definitely places to visit, whether you are local or not. |

I'd love to find anybody who'd be interested in meeting up to form a knitting circle in the Wadhurst/Frant/Tunbridge Wells area. I'm a commuter during the week so have decided I'd like to use my time to keep my mind and hands busy, only I've not been able to find any knitting classes or social groups in the local area where I could get some tips. If there are some that I don't know about, please let me know!! What with "Stitch & ******** groups taking off all round the world I was surprised nothing similar existed in the South East, especially as we have lots of lovely wool shops in the area. I'm pretty young (23) and haven't got many fancy techniques or patterns under my belt but wouldn't it be nice for a group of all ages and skill levels to meet one evening, every couple of weeks or so, to share what we do know? More "Knit and Chit Chat" than "Stitch & ********* Let me know if you're interested and if there is anyone who's keen perhaps we can sort out some meetings. |

Wonderful site. Read everything I come across about the south east. My Grandfather was born in Burwash. Researching my Family Tree and know I have relations in Wadhurst: Mallion & Hemsley. A George Mallion was the Band Master for the Salvation Army, and I'm sure George is related. Would appreciate anyone with information to contact me. Thanks. Shirley |
