I would love to help you on your Clay info. Lydia Clay was the daughter of James M. Clay and Malinda "Maude" Akers. James was a brother of John Clay who married Anna Amelia Elswick. Their father was Jordan Clay and their mother was Mary Carter. I have done years of research on the clay family and understand how they connect with the Potter family at certain points, what I don't understand is how Rebecca Cecil and William Clay come into play. This is very interesting. I was sitting her working on disc book I putting together on the Anderson family and it's loaded with Potter info.
