DEBATE, PUBLIC SPEAKING and MODEL UNITED NATIONS CLASSES for Ages 8 to 18

Westfield Academy is very excited to once again offer Debate, Public Speaking and Model United Nations classes for homeschoolers between the ages of 8 and 18. In these classes, students will study Debate and Public Speaking or Model United Nations in a supportive, respectful environment. Our goal is to help kids \"find their voice\" and to develop the skills, confidence and competence to express it clearly and respectfully. We have been offering these classes for 8 years now and a wonderful community has grown up around them. In addition to classes, the students have the opportunity to attend numerous lectures, events and competitions throughout the year. The students in each class tend to form cohesive social groups that extend beyond the classroom.

We are offering multiple classes this fall for students between the ages of 8 and 18. All classes are held in West Hartford. There are classes for new and experienced debaters. All the details for these classes can be found at: https://annhenderson.squarespace.com/.
There you will find a description of all the classes, a class schedule and a link to register your debater(s) and MUNer(s) for their class(es). Click on the “How to Register” link under the registration tab to find detailed information about how to reserve spots for classes. Note, for some of the classes, if students have not previously taken our classes or attended debate camp, they will need to schedule an introductory session prior to the first class.

Also, note, that we have just added an introductory debate class at 4:15 on Thursdays for 8 to 12 year olds. Because it was just added, there is not yet an option to register for this class on the website. If you are interested in signing your child up for this class, just register for the 4:25 class and send us an email letting us know that you want to register your child for the 4:15 class.
