The NBMAA's upcoming MAURICE SENDAK exhibit is the perfect opportunity to sharpen your storytelling skills! Upon check-in, families will receive a gallery guide to help you build a story together based on "Where the Wild Things Are" as you make your way through the Museum. Start by exploring the Maurice Sendak exhibit for some creative inspiration, and then draw from works in the rest of the galleries to assemble all of your story elements. Docents posted throughout the Museum will answer your questions and listen to what great ideas you dream up. Afterwards, head to the Art Studio to design a book cover, book fair poster, or paper bag puppet to bring your narrative to life. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the galleries at all times; no charge for children 3 and under.

Pre-register by November 11 to receive a FREE Maurice Sendak Teacher Support Kit, with background reading and supplementary activities to help prepare for your visit and extend learning at home with Language Arts, Social Studies, and Visual Arts connections.

Contact Katy at (860) 229-0257, ext. 220 or matsuzakik@nbmaa.org for more info or to register for the event!
