Homeschool General Biology - Gr 9/10 level - Fridays 1230-230 at NESS in Stonington

Biology Fall 2013 - 9th & 10th Grade level
Fridays 12:30pm-2:30pm – 12 weeks
Sept 13, 20, 27; Oct 4, 11, 18, 25; Nov 1, 8, 15; Dec. 6, 13,
Classes are designed for students in 9th & 10th grade that are interested in general biology course work. Reverse classroom concepts will be used as the students prepare at home for each class by reading and investigating chapters outlined by the 2007 Prentice Hall Biology textbook by Miller & Levine.
While at NESS, use experiments, take part in discussions, group projects, field work, & debates. Incorporate community speakers in related biological fields to extend learning. Discuss and research current biological issues from around the world to provide insight into new innovations.

Details:
Students must be at a 9th or 10th grade level in order to enroll. Students will need to purchase the 2007 Prentice Hall Biology book by Miller & Levine with the Dragonfly on the cover. Purchases can be made on Amazon.com.

Minimum enrollment: 8 students NESS
*Some classes may be held at other nearby locations for field trips. Notice will be given in advance for any change in location.

Cost:
$300/student; price does not include textbook.
