Hi CT-Cheer!

It's your old friends at Janet Carlson Calvert Library in Franklin! We know it's been awhile since we have offered any regular programming activities for our local homeschoolers, but our goal is to get things rolling again in 2012. Some of you have inquired about daytime programs to compliment your various curriculums while others are just looking for space to host your active homeschooling groups.....so we were told that this message board is the best way to reach a wider audience and see how we can best accommodate your needs.

Ideally, we would love to offer a regular program that meets each week (or every other week) on either Tuesday or Thursday afternoons. Here at the library, we've been brainstorming program ideas that could be beneficial to all age groups. For example, using food/cooking to get across math concepts. Since everyone has a different area of expertise, we'd love to see other parent-lead programs emerge as time goes on.

At this point, we’re just polling for interest and scheduling preferences with hopes that we can schedule an initial program beginning in March.
