Getting started question

Hi! I was wondering if anyone can tell me the law regarding not sending my child on to the next grade. He will finish this school year but not go back in the fall. I know if I were to pull him out now I would have to send a withdrawal letter. But I'm unclear if I will have to send any letter at all if he simply doesn't return. Anyone know?

TIA!!

Re: Getting started question

Jess,

In September, other than the withdrawal letter, you don't have to "do" anything with regard to the school district. They don't have to "do" anything regarding any further communication with you, either.

They may, however, ask (or demand) that you file a Notice of Intent (NOI) form. It is *NOT* required by law. It's a *Suggested Procedure* that you may choose to file - or not.

Hope that helps.
