We are *seriously* thinking of beginning homeschooling our two children (K and 5th grade) in the fall. In making our list of things that they would seriously miss we have the winter and spring concerts, band, and classmate comradery.

Does anyone know of a homeschool band or music group?

How about weekly meetings for class/group type activities?

We live in Willington, CT and would be willing to host/sponsor a group but are not sure how to go about setting it up...

I would suggest talking to your local librarians about posting a flyer there. Include basic info about wanting to connect with other homeschoolers and what it is you're looking for (social connections, support, etc).

The librarians might put you in touch with some local people, if they know it's okay to do. Or, you can leave your contact info with them to share.

As for *seriously* considering homeschooling; it's clearly a big decision. But, keep in mind that there are families who homeschool, public or private school, or a blend of those options. Each year, they may change their minds, as well. You don't need to be nervous about the decision, because you're never wed to it. Flexibility and choice is the name of the game.
