Volunteer work in exchange for learning about natural horsemanship?

Hey, I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions!

I've loved horses since I was a little girl but didn't get to spend much time around them growing up. I took riding lessons for a while and then I had a summer when I was thirteen where I stayed on a little hobby farm and was basically given a troubled horse for the month and learned with her some basic natural horsemanship principals. To this day, it's one of the most memorable summers of my life. Seeing horses actually happy and really enjoying and seeking out their human company was an incredible experience. I immediately realized that I didn't agree with traditional horse training and that I wanted to learn more. Long story shorter, unfortunately the chances I had to be around horses anywhere after that were at places completely uninterested in natural horsemanship, among many other things I found difficult. Over the years I had bad horse experience after bad horse experience and the automatic comfort level I'd always had around them warped into a lot of anxiety. I'm 26 now and two summers ago I went back to the hobby farm I'd spent the summer at when I was thirteen. The girl doing natural horsemanship was no longer there, but they still respect a lot of the practices, and bottom line, their horses were clearly happy and I was reminded once again of just how much I love them and miss having them in my life.

While I'm not a very confident rider any more, I'm comfortable with basic horse care... Feeding, grooming, mucking stalls.. I don't have a lot of money so I can't afford to pay for an internship but I'm hoping to find somewhere I can work for a month (non-horse related work is fine too) in BC, Canada, in exchange for being taught about natural horsemanship and the chance to regain my confidence around horses and simply just spend some time with them.

Any leads you guys could give me would be great!
Thanks tons,
- J.
