KBFN Adult State Championship will remain on Oct 27&28
First off, on behalf of the KBFN board and myself personally, we would like to apologize for all the confusion and feather-ruffling we may have caused our membership over this proposed date change. And secondly, your leadership will work harder to prevent this kind of disturbance to you, our members, in the future. Now with that being said I would like to discuss with you all some of the things that caused this to come about. The KBFN board has worked hard to provide its membership with stability, confidence and trust within this organization to do what is best, not for any one member, but for the organization as a whole. And one of those characteristics is providing the membership with a seasonal schedule in a pro-active manor by which the membership can honor and work around so that its membership can take part in the friendship and comradery, by which it is founded on, and provide that beginning pathway to the Bassmasters Classic. Now, one particular standard that we have always lived by is that the KBFN does its best not to schedule on any B.A.S.S. events; however, we have never really had the issue where B.A.S.S. schedules on top of one of our events......which provided us with this such predicament. The dates for the FNC was just announced only a couple of weeks ago. Now I am sure we, the state of Kentucky, probably wasn't the only state who was presented with this issue. After some discussion over the weekend and earlier into this week, we want to continue our support to you, the membership, with stability and announce that the original dates of the KBFN State Championship will stay on October 27th and 28th. And, the leadership of this organization will continue to work with B.A.S.S. in an effort to help them become more pro-active to its membership as well. As for the state team member who advances to the FNC, we will provide them with as much resources and flexibility to help them with the transition to the FNC and state championship as possible provided they become qualified. I hope this will help settle any further issues and begin to put everyone in a fishing frame of mind and we all look forward to seeing you all soon. If you have any other questions please feel free to call me; otherwise, I would like to wish each and every member of the state team the best, catch lots of fish (which we will need pictures...no fish tales of the one that got away...lol) and have a safe trip to and from the event. NOW LETS GO FISHING!!!!!
