Hi As a former Farringdonian who was evacuated from Pompey during 40/41 and now living in Kent, I recall a plane crashing near the Mill. Maybe towards the end of the war?
Was it my imagination inspired by the Boys Own Adventure books of those days?
I have fond memories of Farringdon living there until the death of my Mum in '53, then, I was packed off to join the Marines.
Regards to anyone still living there who may have remembered the scruffy kid who was made to wear a red beret by my mum!!! Smiling at you.
