In the summer of '64 (maybe '65), I was cadet in the Civil Air Patrol Arizona Wing. We did our annual 2-week encampment, along with the New Mexico Wing, at Biggs AFB. We did LOTS of marching & stading at attention being inspected & generally hollered at for one thing or another.
Fortunately, we had a pretty good view of the flight line & the center of the runway from our barracks area. We could see the EB-57s take off & land. I vividly remember the silver Huns with the bright orange drop tanks. A couple of times we saw an F-100 fly down the runway, pull its nose up a bit & execute a beautiful slow roll. Very pretty in the bright sunlight.
