Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

The Dark-Hunter and Dream-Hunter series are amazing Jodi, you will LOVE them. Her latest is about Acheron (she is finally writing about him and is going to do two books about him) but not out til AUgust.

I am re-reading Lynsays Vamp series.
It takes a day to read two of them so I'm almost done lol.
Waiting on the rest of the historicals I ordered from B&N, and Anthologies from Rhapsody Book Club.

I can't wait to read this book:

I already have a darn copy but it was shipped to my old address and my old roommate hates me so I highly doubt he'll send it he'll probably throw it away out of spite.

so I had to re-order it because the one from BnN was a paperback and I wanted hardcover

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Jodi...
It was the first time I read books by Nicole Jordan, too. I was really enjoy them. I think... "To seduce a bride" is more interesting than "To pleasure a lady", but "To bed a beauty" is the most funny and interesting courtship ! I like the Duke of Arden

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Mia I really liked all 3 but my favorite was the last one To Seduce a Bride. I just adored Heath

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Jodi, it's good that you have Fantasy Lover because I think that is the first book in the Dark-Hunter series...I remember I had to special order it. I'll check your recent lists, but send me one if I don't have it for the Dark-Hunter series.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Night Embrace was my first Dark Hunter book and I had to go back and find copies of Fantasy Lover and Night Pleasures because I liked NE so well. I think NE was the book that got me started in the Paranormal genre. It has slowly taken over my reading. I used to read 90% historical romance, now I read 90% Paranormal. But I've still got tons of Historicals that I want to read, just don't have time.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Wren I will do up a list, I am pretty sure I didn't put the Dark-Hunter series on before, didn't want to give you too many lol!

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Currently reading....

"The Reluctant Reformer"

I love it so far!
I can't possibly start another book series until I've read everything Lynsay has written, I love her style. It is just too funny how in most of her books someone is in some mortal(immortal even) danger and the men and woman are CONSTANTLY misunderstanding each other ie: Love is Blind, The Perfect Wife and former.
Not to mention all the Argeneau issues
The humor is fun and refreshing...
'It simply wasn't polite to tell a lady that her hands were covered in animal excrement'

So, while I am waiting for the library to FINALLY get a copy of L.A. Banks newest book, The Darkness, I shall continue with Lynsay's Historicals.

I love all the suggestions here. Trying to keep an excel sheet of "To Be Read" and it's getting quite long. Honestly, hubby will leave me if I try to read them all. He's growing tired of watching me read when he can't find a single book that holds his own interest. (That's fine, he can continue watching the History Channel)

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Wren: I see you are reading/have read "The Chase". I have it on my dresser but since I strated the Reluctant Reformer first, I wnated to finish then move on....
I am a bit curious about this one as it was the only historical left I hadn't read that the library has in stock, most of the rest I'll have to run to the Book Rack and pick up for my own.
Anyway, so, reading the back I felt a little confused about the story...I will admit it first hand...I HATE HISTORY! I'm terrible, but I almost didn't graduate because of it (and now my 13yr old is failing it, gee, uh) anyway, so....

Please tell me...is it a lot like her others? I loved:
The Perfect Wife
Love is Blind
and current Reluctant...

I know, sounds silly, but I kinda hesitated to dive in.
Thanks...

Tracy looking quite embarrassed.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Tracy you will love The Chase. If you read The Deed and The Key, it's kind of a follow-up to those, but you don't have to read them first to get this one. It is hillarious, especially "The Chase" scenes.

I laughed throughout that book, it is by far my favorite of Lynsay's historicals.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Stauri:
Thank you, although...*pouts* I went to the Book Rack at lunch and they did not have:
The Deed, Key or Switch.
And I am SOOO weird about wanting to read books in order, so, I may just return the book to the library until I can get my hands on the other ones. Maybe tomorrow I will go to the library around the corner and sign up, I believe they have more historicals here in this county VS. my county across the river.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

You don't have to read those before The Chase, it's just that The Deed and The Key have some of the same characters in them. One of the main Characters in the Chase is also in the Deed, and the other main character in The Chase is also in the Key. They kind of cross reference each other a little, but not much.

The Switch definitely can be read by itself out of those, as none of the other characters appear in this book.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Tracy I know what you mean. I go crazy if I know there is a series and I missing one or if I read one out order.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

I am the same usually although I did read The Chase before I knew that there were other books connected to it and it didn't effect the story and I still haven't read The Deed or The Key (haven't found them yet) but I do have some books waiting around until I get the rest of the series. I just don't like reading a book that refers to other characters and you don't know what is going on.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

I just started reading Keri Arthur's new book and there's a werewolf pimp with my name!

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Lucky you Acal I haven't gotten her new one yet. you will have to let me know what you think of it.

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

With your given name or forum name, Acal?

Re: So... Whatcha Readin'?

Tracy, I finished The Chase and absolutely loved it. I didn't know the other books were connected to it, but it doesn't matter because the book still stands alone. I think my bookstore had The Key, so I will try to get it this week. My library has the anthologies, and finally all of the Argeneaus, but they only recently purchased three of the historicals in the large type.

After The Chase, I read Bliss. I thought The Brat was my all time favorite...but now it is tied with Bliss. It was so funny! Read it as soon as you can...I can't recommend it enough.

I loved The Reluctant Reformer...that is the book that inspired me to first email Lynsay. I was hoping she was going to write the book of another character, but alas, at this time, he must live in historical oblivion in The Reluctant Reformer because he belongs with the Dorchester historicals. If she writes for Dorchester again in the future, perhaps he will get his story told.

I have also read The Switch, Love Is Blind, and The Perfect Wife. I have liked all of the historicals.

I have also read almost all of the anthologies, because a few were at my library. Slowly, I am collecting the historicals and anthologies.

If you haven't read it yet, get Bliss asap. It is too good to miss!
