Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

I know everyone keeps posting their favorite authors but I am in a rut lol. I need some help .
I am almost at a loss here. I am running out of books to read and am tired of rereading everything a million times over haha.

Here' s a quick run down of what I'm into and a few authors I enjoy...
Bertrice Small,Kresley Cole, Virginia Henley, Lynsay Sands, Kim Harrison, Julie Garwood, Kat Martin, Kathleen E. Woodiwiss(yes I know she's flowery but still she is good), Johanna Lindsey, Janet Evanovich, Sherrilyn Kenyon.... Goodness I could go on forever. I loved Heather Graham's vampire books. Fun Fun and Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian and Dan Brown and Khaled Husseini's two books.

Now here is the types: I love paranormal books, like Lynsay Sands and Kim Harrison write.
My time periods are : Middle Ages, Tudor Dynasty, Elizabethan Period and Ancient times. I like those Yep. I don't like Regency's or Victorian Era but sometimes Georgian Era will slip through and I might enjoy it.

I want to try some of Lisa Jackson's medievals but I have never read her, or Brenda Joyce. Has anyone here?

I am impatiently waiting for Philippa Gregory's new book out in 2008 called The Other Queen [/b](Mary, Queen of Scots) and I want to try Kinley MacGregor (Sherrilyn Kenyon's other name) And I would love a new historical by Lynsay No pressure!

Please lol any suggestions?
OH and I really don't like contemporaries unless they are paranormal like Lynsay or Janet Evanovich's hilarious series and Kim Harrison. I'm more of a historical gal

Thank You So Much!!!!!!

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Kelli, I read Nina Bangs. She is paranormal romance and funny too like Lynsay. I also like Sabrina Jeffries for period romances with humor mixed in. She has quite a few series that are very good.

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Mine lead more to Marion Zimmer Bradley: her Avalon series, Piers Anthony: Incarnations of Immorality (Death,Time,Fate,War,Mother Nature,Good, Evil,Chaos)(Science & Magic). I enjoy these almost as much as I do Lynsay's

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Kelli, Brenda Joyce is really good her histroicals and her paranormal series The Masters of Time 2 books so far Dark Seduction and Dark Rival.

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

You have to read Stephenie Meyer's saga about vampires!!! It starts with Twilight and then you have New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn - the end of saga which will be realised in August. They are marked as YA but I'm far from that age and I really did enjoy these books, every one of them I've read in one day (which means 24 hours without stopping and Eclipse has over 600 pages) and reread so many times that I've lost count. These books are the reason I'm so hooked up on vampires and also the way I found out about Lynsay's books. So try them out and I promise you that you wouldn't be able to keep your mind of Edward

Thank you very much.

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Well from what i've read of her so far Lora Leigh is a really steamy author, shes got a paranormal series called Breeds which I haven't started reading yet but will once i've gotten through her other stuff which is really hot.

Shes got a lot of books to keep you busy shes even more extensive in her catalogue then Laurell K Hamilton (who has 26 novels)

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Hello Kelli, if you like Lynsay style of writing, then I think you will like Kerrelyn Sparks. I have read all 4 and they made me laugh out loud. The only book out of her series I didn't like was the 2nd book, but it was still good. I also picked up Kathy Love and she is also a fun writer. Both of these are paranormal romance. I picked up others, but they are darker and then I also picked up Katie Macalister and she is very different with the vamp twist. she talks about faeries,ghosts,ect...

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Any good historical authors? THanks for all of the paranormals, I'm checking them out (I'm not much of a library girl,I like to buy my books from B&N, Double Day Book Club and Rhapsody Book Club, even Books a million sometimes).

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Historicals... well, you said sometimes Georgian period will do. Jo Beverley has a Georgian series that I really enjoyed. It's the Malloren series. Check her website for details. She also has a few Medievals that I loved (again, details on her website).

I second the Kerrelyn Sparks rec from above. I'd also suggest Katie MacAlisters paranormals (someone else may have mentioned her, too).

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Have you read Karen Marie Moning? Not sure of the spelling of her last name...Immortal highlanders...some time travel and some humor, too.

I second the Brenda Joyce new series Masters of Time,
and Kerrilyn Sparks...both are very good. Kathy Love seems to be promising in the humorous paranormals.

I like Kasey Michaels "The Beckets of Romney Marsh" series. These are historicals based on a family with a little bit of mystery to them.

Also, what about Hannah Howell? If you like Scottish medievals, she is tops in that field. She and Lynsay write some duos that are paranormals, but her own books are mostly historicals.

It's hard for me to help, because I love the regency era! Most of my keeper authors write of that time period.

As for historical, I like Jean Plaidy...and some of her books are back in print. She is also known as Victoria Holt and Phillipa Carr...but it was under the name of Jean Plaidy that she wrote many historicals of the time periods you find most interesting. Her books are fascinating. I found a website of her by putting in a search on yahoo, and it listed all of her books including the ones back in print.

If Jacquie hasn't responded yet, maybe she will have ideas. She reads a lot of historicals, and prefers them over the paranormals.

Also, Sherrilyn Kenyon writing as Kinley McGregor is very good. I have enjoyed the books I have tried of hers under that name.

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

I haven't read any of the other authors mentioned above, but I am making my list, I assure you! ;)

I came across Lynsay's books by reading L.A. Banks 'Vampire Huntress' series. I couldn't wait for her newest book out in Feb, so started searchng the library for more vampire books. And that's that!

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

Ooh, how could I forget the Kinley MacGregor medievals! MUST READ BOOKS for sure!

Re: Do you have any suggestions? Pretty Please..

I forgot to mention Celeste Bradley...The Liar's Club series...set in the regency era but about a group of spies for the crown. She is another author who writes with a great sense of humor! You may like these even though they are regencies.
