Wait he is blonde too? Ahhh.... I didn't think of him as blonde either. And his last name is Mortimer not his first? Although I like the name Garrett. Very interesting.
oh wow!!....I don't like blonds myself on a guy....not at all what I wanted him to be!! But i guess it works with the whole califonia/ DUDE persona....PLEASE DON"T BE A SURFER....PLEASE DON"T BE A SURFER.....PLEASE DON"T BE A SUREFER!!
can I join you guys....
I have to know more now....I HAVE TOO!!(as the beby of he group I feel it is my responsibiliy to throw a tantrum until Lynsay gives in!!
That was very good temper G3, very convincing. I can't see him as a surfer. He seemed to serious. Besides with a name like Garrett. How many surfers do you know named Garrett or Mortimer for that matter?
I know blonde hair doesn't fit the projected image of him either,
I'm thinking black hair, a hooded cloak, and a giant scythe Mortimer sounds like an undertaker's name.
I think he'll be using both names in his book, Mortimer is his enforcer name and Garret would be the more personal name that his lifemate would be using
They say that "blondes have more fun" remember? I don't think that just applies to the girls. Also, everyone from CA is not a "surfer-dude." I lived in CA for about a year, and didn't meet a single surfer! I'm not sure I see a connection between a person's name and the "surfer-dude image."
He has short blonde hair, and is an enforcer. I think more of a "military man." Soldier or Warrior or Enforcer...sound anything like Lucern or Victor to you, only blonde. Oh, that should get your attention, little sisters! I know who you find yummy...I see all with the inner eye, you know?
Lynsay has to please some of her fans who "prefer blondes" some of the time!
I like the name Garrett! Sounds ...and sexy and strong...and capable of having fun!
Think of this too...he may have seemed serious in BMIYC, but Thomas never seemed too serious until his own book. We may see another side of his personality!
Acal, midnight black hair with robe and a scythe? That doesn't sound like an undertaker...that sounds like the grim reaper! scary thought
wren out looking for The Rogue Hunter, um I mean W2 looking for enforcers to help!
Let's see...Garrett means "to watch, or spear rule"
and Mortimer means "still water or from the still pond" That's an interesting name meaning for an enforcer! Mysterious, don't cha think?
You are right. An undertaker buries the dead...well, hopefully they are dead if he buries them.
Do you mean the name "Mortimer" is used in a lot of fiction for the "undead" or for a traditional
Hmmm...well, Mortimer does sound a lot like Mortician, aka as a funeral director or undertaker.
My dh wanted to be a mortician at one time...ewww, no way. Not a coroner either. (sorry, Rachel )
I just don't want to be around the dead or live over the funeral home. I don't even like scary movies with the dead or the undead!
Intelligent and zombie just don't seem to go together for me. I mean, wouldn't the brain be all rotted Also, the walking mummy was the closest smilie that I could find for a zombie, intelligent or otherwise.
Well speaking from experience I hope that Mortimer will be better preserved than an intelligent zombie (although I love zombies they happend be my favorite thing to watch on horror films)
My real question is .....
Will his lifemate be using his name when she is "happy" with our enforcer or during the normal course of the day will it be "Mortimer"?
Not if you are a dark and stormy military or law enforcemnt man...and I've seen plenty of those with short blonde hair. They are just as menacing...it is the "personality" when they are doing their jobs that brings out the "dark and stormy." They are all business, then!
Also, what colour are his eyes? It is said that "eyes are the window to the soul!" I'm sure he will have his share of trials before settling down with his lifemate...whoever she is. Also, we don't know if he ends up working with her (another enforcer) which I think would be an interesting scenario, or if he is on a job and meets her. If she is another enforcer on a job with him, then I think he will be Mortimer for most of his book...until the intimacy or danger brings them to a first name basis.
I thought his name meaning was interesting too, Gena. Another saying is "still waters run deep." Who will be bringing our Mortimer out to be "Garrett" the immortal, not Mortimer the Enforcer? Who will reach through those still waters, hmmm? We know he is over 400yo and that he just "picked" at food when he would go with Bricker to Leigh's club and restaurant. Although, Bricker is supposed to be a fairly young immortal still, if I remember correctly. He still eats food for enjoyment. We also know that Mortimer is kind, because along with Bricker he talked Lucien into allowing them to save Leigh.
It may be time for a speculation on The Rogue Hunter thread to be started.
Also, maybe a "name meanings" thread. I think I may begin one of those. It is fascinating what some of the names mean, and how interwoven they are. Our Lynsay is one nifty author, who is really unique in her research! Down to the smallest details. I don't know how she does it all!
For example, Vincent is named after his father. Look it up to see, or I will post it on the new thread.
Wren..i know what you mean,I had a friend who was a cop.Sweetest guy you would ever know, wouldn't think he could hurt a fly. But no matter how they are on a day to day...once they kick into work mode....ITS ALL IN THE EYES!!!
and the weren't bad either!!! ...no that I would know or anything!!
Huh now that you mentioned it. It seems that he starts a lot of these "EDUCATIONAL" topics and acts all innocent like he can't understand why we choose to continue it.
YES sister of mine....I noticed it awhile ago, he brings these topics to the borads, then laughs and gives usa hard time when we cntinue it....
typical man!!...but its fun to have him here, actually! I like having a mans opinion!! YEA acal!!
Sorry! Australian timezone and I have uni during the day!
