A Bite To Remember **spoiler alert**

just finished A Bite to Remember and really enjoyed it. I was really surprised by how much I did like it because I didn't really like Vincent in Tall, Dark and Hungry and I didn't figure I would like him in a book all his own. I liked seeing a different side of him and Jackie was a perfect match for him.
I also really liked the psycho vampire. I thought I had it all figured out and that Sharon was the one doing everything, imagine my surprise at finding out it was Lily.
I am now off to start Bite Me if You Can.

Jodi - I'm with you I did like ABTR after I read it, although I didn't care for Vincent in TD&H either. I guess he kinda grew on me after that.

I'll have to re-read it as apparently I missed some things. It was not really in my re-read stack, as those are saved for my favorite Argeneaus. One of which you are about to read now.

Can't wait to hear what you think of Lucian's story.

Re: A Bite To Remember **spoiler alert**

I loved the part "But she's mortal!"

Let us know how you liked Lucian's story.

Of course he is MY favorite. (as if you could not tell by previous posts)

Re: A Bite To Remember **spoiler alert**

I agree that Vincent did seem like a different person from how he was in Tall, Dark and Hungry. Which is a good thing because he wasn't very nice in that book. The character of Vincent in A Bite to Remember was much nicer and more discriminating about who he fed off of. In Tall, Dark and Hungry I remember him whining "but I'm hungry..." after Bastian yelled at him for first going after the housekeeper and then CK. He just seemed kind of selfish. And when he had his own book, he was very concerned about the safety of who he fed off when they became targets.

I'm glad that Lynsay took the character in a different direction. He would never have been more than a secondary character left the way he was. Good for a few laughs but no more.

Kim, we really did see a different side of him at home, but I think he was still the fun loving fool he always is! Remember with Bastien and Lucern, Vincent and Thomas both hate being looked at as children so they make life as hard and miserable as they can for the older family members. I didn't take it as whining to whine, i took it as whining to annoys Bastien, who was really starting to unravel from the chaos, and it was to add to the fun.

Re: A Bite To Remember **spoiler alert**

I just couldn't see Vincent as a main character the way he was in Tall, Dark and Hungry. he seemed a bit childish to me. At the beginning of A Bite to Remember when he was going on about her being a woman and a mortal I thought he was going to be the same. I was really glad that wasn't the case and as I said before I really enjoyed the book.

Now Lucian in Bite Me if You Can seems really mean, I have only just started and I am interested to see how Lynsay makes him seem more "human" I did have to laugh at him with the earplugs when Leigh is in the back of the car screaming and Thomas is asking how he is supose to concentrate on driving with her screaming and Lucian just puts the earplugs in and closes his eyes. that was good.

Jodi...i can't wait untill you are finished with BMIYC...it is one i have read multiple times...let me know when you are so we can discuss!!

Vincent remember, was the fun loving, laid back guy, like Thomas.....as I said in my last post, he does it to annoy the older ones, but in his book, I think we see him as he really is, when he is not putting up the fack annoying guy. Just like VAF we see Thomas as who he really is, Vincent isn't at all what he tries to be....acting is a good choice of a career for him. The realy intresting part is how he goes from laid back to dealing with the problems of his production company. He obviously dosn't handle stress as el as Bastien does!!!
"A female! and she's mortal!"

Re: A Bite To Remember **spoiler alert**

Jodi, you are in for a treat because you are about to hit a streak of really funny scenes! Can't say more without spoilers but have fun reading!

Re: A Bite To Remember **spoiler alert**

I liked Vincent in his own book although he had me in stiches everytime he tried to feed off someone in TDH. I loved the twist in the end. It always had you guessing. I was with you Jodi. I thought for sure it was Sharon until whammo I was wrong. I couldn't get around that her eyes didn't have silver in them until she said she used contacts.

You are so gonna love BMIYC. Lucian becomes more than just "human". He is absolutely adorable.

Re: A Bite To Remember **spoiler alert**

Okay, everyone...

I loved Vincent in Tall, Dark, & Hungry...I thought he made it even funnier, and remember...he and Bastien are the same age and ran around together when younger. He actually was looking out for Bastien in TD&H because of what had happened to him with Josephine. Of course, I just love Vincent.

I didn't think he was whining...remember too, he can't drink bagged blood...he would starve to death. You guys are giving my main man too hard a time.
After all, he didn't expect Bastien to be coming in with company, or he would not have been feeding on his housekeeper. He had only come in from California, so he had not had a chance to feed properly. Too, Bastien didn't really care if he snacked on C.K., because he didn't really care about him at first, so it didn't matter to him...so Bastien wasn't actually being equal about it. I love Bastien, also...but if Vincent was being whiny then Bastien was being a bit stuffy and unfair.

Also, Vincent's book is a lot more subtle than some of the others...he is almost always funny and whimsical on the outside in any of the books, but very vunerable on the inside. Vincent hasn't had an easy life what with losing his mother so young, and Victor's suffering causing him to reject being with his son because he looked a lot like his mother, and the stigma against him since he can't feed from bagged blood. (No offense, Gena...but Victor did go through his rough times too...and has the same genetic anomaly as far as feeding goes!)

It is really Etienne and Thomas that give the older brothers and other immortals a hard time, because they are both under 400yo. Bastien and Vincent grew up as close as brothers, then threw themselves into their own life's work after Josephine rejected Bastien.

As for BMIYC...well let's just say that Lucien becomes a real man again...instead of a frozen neanderthal!(Thanks, Gypsy...couldn't find the right word!)And it's hilarious while he gets thawed...
