Im so lost!!!!

Its funny, because I'm here reading the things that you guys have written, you talk about magic, a family secret and Gypsi? and I am so totally lost that I felt like I was reading a romance book and out of the blue was switched with a basketball game , its funny, I guess I should have joined the forum before, maybe I would know what you talk about, anyways, just wanted to tell you guys that I like you a lot, I like the way you all just get along so well, when some of you dont even live in the same and everything started because you have one thing in common, you all love Lynsay, I guess we should thank her, THANKS LYNSAY, anyhow, you guys are awesome and I hope to be able to understand you one day

Re: Im so lost!!!!

Don't worry it gets easier... just jump in with questions or start topics... these guys here are awesome... great people to be around and post with... as you read more of the books you will have more to post about and understand more... as for the off topic stuff... yeah you have to be there when the thread began... LOL... that's why you start more threads so you can be there from the beginning... LOL..

Re: Im so lost!!!!

Hi Meli,

Don't worry, you will catch on as you go along!
First, this website and forum is the official Lynsay Sands site. So, if you hear or read it here, and it comes from the "officials," then you know it is accurate.

The officials are The Spices (The amazing Lynsay Sands, bestselling and greatest author in the universe and her wonderful husband, Dave, aka Mr. Spice our moderator, gibbon wrangler extraordinaire - someday he is supposed to explain that, language and music expert, etc.)The House Elf Tori(aka Terri, Lynsay's administrator and assistant), and Emma the cat (Lynsay's and Dave's cat...who types very well when she writes an editorial for the newsletter.) They all live at Spice Acres, Canada.

In addition...on the forum, you have lots of new friends. The AE4 have been here awhile, and discovered that besides their passion for all things Argeneau, they were serious "Charmed" fans...even bought the DVDs after the show went off the air. The Spices graciously allow us to banter and carry on...sometimes we are very good and sometimes we are a little naughty and we get sent to the corner to read our books until we can behave again but it is all in good fun. The AE means Angelic Enforcers...we help the hunky Argeneaus and the enforcers save innocents when we aren't trying to get Dave or Lynsay to tell us what the next book's title, cover-art, and most important, storyline is, as well as the publishing date. As in charmed, it is imperative that we keep our magic hidden, so that name will eventually self-destruct! We protect the Argeneau family and the Spice family...except they probably would not let us in LOL...but we must keep our "secrets." If not, we have to bring out the and the magic potions, enchantments, and whatever is needed to do our duty!

In addition, the truth is that we have become very good friends outside the forum, and hope to meet up one day...maybe at a book conference when Lynsay is on the right coast for us. Unfortunately, that is not where she will be this year, as she will be in a conference in San Francisco this summer.

As for GypsyCharm...she is one of my in real life sisters who pops in to comment and is slowly reading the Argeneaus...although she knows a lot of them because of me, our other sister, and her daughter and she is also a huge Tinkerbell fan (so is Vicky~Tink fan that is) so you might see a little gypsy magic or pixie dust flying around occasionally. Gypsy has a 19yo daughter named Kewie who is almost finished with the series...she finally got to Thomas' book today...I made her read them in order. SeashellBelle is my other irl sister.(oh, and she and Gypsy are twins who fight over Bastien...Gypsy claims he should be hers because her real name is Terri...Sherri says she can just get over it because she discovered him first I don't remember them ever fighting over a real life guy this way, thankfully.) Seashell isn't on the forum except the getting to know you thread, although she is an avid fan of the books...they need a new computer, and she needs to learn how to use one. She is a platinum blond beach bunny...guess she is our mermaid. So, we just talk by phone each morning and catch her up, and because we miss her!

Jodi and I have become irl bookpals/emailpals...I guess that is what a modern penpal would be called. She lives far NT Canada and it is hard to get the books. We homeschool in South , so she sends educational Canada stuff to us, plus beautiful pictures of the Northern Lights...stuff we would not get to see this way otherwise, and books to me and we just made our first package exchange. So, see, you get to know people from everywhere through Lynsay, and you become really close.

We usually start a thread with a good topic about a book or character, then it follows a bunny trail or goes on a fox hunt...whatever works at the time. The people on here are fantastic...it is truly the best forum ever. The Spice Team works very hard to accomodate Lynsay's fans, make the forum comfortable, graciously allow us to play our games...and we have a great time with the wonderful newsletters they put out each month. They put a lot of work into showing their appreciation for Lynsay's fans.

Let's see...there are a couple of things we don't do...We do not write fan-fiction due to copyright infringment and the binding, legal contracts that Lynsay has with her publishers...so that includes Avon, who now publishes the Argeneau series and historicals, and Dorchester, who previously published some of the Argeneaus and many historicals. There are also anthologies and HannahHowell/LynsaySands Scottish duos about a clan that is just a little different. You can find all of Lynsay's work and the best reading order listed on her website.
Also, Lynsay does have an official blog, http://lynsaysands.spaces.live.com/

We don't recommend or link sites that do fan-fiction or that do anything that would harm the Lynsay Sands name or reputation or do anything illegal concerning her work. If you are uncertain about an outside fan site, just bring it to Dave's or Terri's attention. With permission from Lynsay, there have been yahoo groups or myspace sites...I myself like this forum best, because it is official, but there are others that are okay if you wish to participate.

Oh, and to keep everyone fun and polite to one another, we don't discuss political or religious topics and things of that nature. This forum is for fans of Lynsay's books to discuss those books and characters in a safe, comfortable environment...and to have lighthearted fun. Lynsay and Dave have wonderful senses of humour...yes I like to spell things the British way...see the influence Mr. Spice has on us. We try to baffle him with language and music topics, and he is good-natured about it, and even admits when we have him stumped, and he baffles us with stuff in return. Lynsay pops in between writing, researching, writing more, corrections, making the publisher happy and so on, so that we can be happy and get more books...whenever she can. Post a question if you have one, and either someone will remember a previous thread...or Lynsay or Dave will answer when they have time.

So, your mission, should you choose to accept, is to be one of the SASSy ARGENEAUTS...Denise is good at coming up with names and stuff...and Cindy is great with computer stuff...and many others check in from time to time. Anyway, SASS stands for Sands And Spice Society...that way, everyone...male and female fans of any of Lynsay's work are included...and of course Argeneauts is more specific to those who are big fans of the Argeneau series and any related books. All you have to do to be a member is Read Lynsay's books, enjoy this forum and make friends, and "turn" anyone you can into Lynsay Sands fans. (As we are mortal, the only one turn rule does not apply...besides, that only deals with immortal lifemates...we want to turn readers, bookstore workers and owners, all of your friends, teachers, anyone, etc...into "turns." The more books bought and read means the more fans there are which means the more books Avon will publish...)

Everything else, you will catch up on by just jumping in anywhere. Start a thread, and see where it goes. Soon, you will know who is my favorite Argeneau (Vincent ~ followed closely by Bastien and Thomas) my favorite books, my favorite funny scenes, and so on...and that I like to post annoying quizzes that you have to choose only one or two answers for each category...You will know the favorites of the other friends you will meet on this forum. You will know that Froggie is a major Days Of Our Lives fan! You will know that Acal is our other resident male besides Mr. Spice, but he is in Australia and his books are taking too long to get there, which is a bummer. You will know that PuppyLover is our resident 12yo, although there are a few other younger readers...she is our youngest on the forum. We don't mention whose oldest...a lady never tells unless she wants to, so unless she chooses to come forward... You will know that Stauri is as naughty as the AE4 sisters, and we haven't figured out her magic yet. Is she a or ?

You will soon know who knows every song and musical ever written ...just read the getting to know you thread... it's how we bump it to the top. You will know who likes chocolate and who doesn't...Mr. Spice does not, btw. You will find out that there are a bunch of us that are Kraft boxed Mac-n-cheese fanatics.

Aren't you in massage therapy school? SmileyCentral.com

Well, I'm in central Mississippi...we homeschool our two sons, before having kids I taught public school, our sons play and my dh coaches and we take Tang Soo Do I love to read and scrapbook, and draw with coloured pencils. The only older "sister" I have is C1ofAE4 who is the one who calls me "instigator" because I usually deserve it and you must always support #88 in Nascar for her...I made her a promise , I'm bossy, difficult, and seldom humble, and I married My Frog Prince and he really is My Prince Charming except when I'm bossy, difficult, and play on the computer instead of getting my work finished. And I'm trying to convince him that a pool is a necessity in the summers of the deep south.

SmileyCentral.com Oh, and I love cats!

Still lost...well, you will find your way! Just follow the yellow-brick road, my pretty!
It will lead you right to Lynsay Sands, who is what brought us all together!

Re: Im so lost!!!!

hehehe.....she said "usually"...hmmmm....can't help it, I got choked up. IRL, instigator is an accurate description as well. As I know her personally, I believe that this forum knows her as well as I do. SmileyCentral.com ~---wren

Re: Im so lost!!!!

Wow wren.. how long did it take you to write that essay?

Re: Im so lost!!!!

And what work did she put off doing in order to accomplish this?

also if you hadn't guessed by now, W2(Wren) is the woman of "few" words!SmileyCentral.com

We are trying to break her out of her shell, and become more vocal, but some people need a little time, however, its ok...we love her anyway! SmileyCentral.com

Re: Im so lost!!!!

I'm glad you only wrote the Readers Digest version. Let me know when the Encyclopedia comes out. Wow - you're awesome Wren.

By the way, I like to think of myself as a fairie blend - mix of and . As I love anything supernatural and I have a massive Tinkerbell collection I'm sure Gypsy would be impressed with (I have a middle bedroom with signed original drawings that my insurance company thinks should be in a museum or under the careful eye of a curator and a huge curio cabinet like the ones in Hallmark with all my collectibles purchased through collectors). I recently stopped collecting due to the easy availability of Tinkerbell items (you can find her everywhere now). I may have to sell it all soon. I obtained most of it by way of my cousin who worked at DisneyWorld in Florida as an Imagineer (I had connections) teehee!

Anyway, Meli, I'm originally from Arkansas, moved to the Texas Gulf Coast (H-town)in 2001 when I got married. I work as a Contract Analyst for a major Oil & Gas Exploration Company. My co-workers refer to me as the pit-viper, as I can get most people to agree to anything (even first born if I sweet talk enough).

I gave up the dreaded television for New Years (although I sneak a few shows here and there or TIVO them for future viewing pleasure)as I travel a lot on business. I picked up my first Lynsay book after researching authors on the internet after I had finished the Twilight series (3 times), and I am obsessed so to speak. I have become an addict, after reading all the Argeneaus to date, I have recently acquired all of Lynsay's historicals and am almost through them. After reading my first couple of Lynsay's Argeneaus I just knew I was hooked, after finishing VI (I sort of read them in order), I decided to join the thread, although I had been reading and following for several months.

Everyone here is great, loads of fun, and I couldn't think of anywhere else I would rather hang out other than the gym (much better view than the 4 walls of my formal room at home). It's just like talking to your blood family but better (at least in my opinion at times)as everyone here is always thinking of something to make each other laugh. The discussions are fantastic, and let me tell you, these guys can figure out a plot line in a heartbeat. Before VI came out, they pretty much had it down, I analyze things, but apparently not to this extent. Have always enjoyed a good book to ease the tension, but never sat down to analyze one, now they've got me reading them over and over again, and pulled my old parenthetical and theoretical reference guides out from college to disect plots and other information. Scary, I as I have learned to do that in everyday situations when negotiating, but haven't used it on literature of any type since college. Thanks guys!!! You've brought a new excitement into my life, especially Lynsay!!! Thank you, wow what an epiphany!

Don't worry about anything, you'll catch on quick, sometimes I just read through the threads just for a laugh or to learn something more about everyone.

The Spices are great for allowing us to get carried away as we do, as we can get pretty naughty at times, but we keep it clean.

-apparently I felt like rambling today, finally releasing energy after sitting at my desk for too long.

Re: Im so lost!!!!

As the "oldest of the AE4" I should have the most words. But little sis always has to be the show off.

Did she leave anything out?

c1 who seems to be the good one today

Re: Im so lost!!!!

Did any of you ever watch the show "Designing Women" that had Dixie Carter, Delta Burke, Jean Smart, and Annie Potts as women who owned and worked for an Interior Design company...well, Dixie Carter played the oldest sister, Julia...and when necessary she could put on a southern rant and they called her "The Terminator." Well, that's what my irl sisters and closest cousin call me. I generally always know what to say!

Acal, I can write an essay and type it in fairly fast! It comes in handy as a teacher.

What can I say y'all...I'm a lady of depth and many, many words! Friends who know me irl often say I'm a walking encyclopedia. But...they know where to call to get the information! If I don't know it, I probably know where to find it.

wren...life is too short to be humble (except when it's truly important), bashful, or quiet...you can't get your needs or wants met or meet others needs or wants unless you share with someone!

There...my wisdom for the day!

Re: Im so lost!!!!

Wren - I like you being the resident know it all, you would make a good Julia.

Stauri - who seems to have picked up Wren's writing bug somehow.

Re: Im so lost!!!!

Dang... I got exhausted just reading all that... LOL...

Re: Im so lost!!!!

and besides, I was just trying to help another fan find her way around...

wren

Re: Im so lost!!!!

and we love you for it sis....

G3 (who would still be writing that essay the way my keyboradSmileyCentral.com has been acting)

Re: Im so lost!!!!

Wow, that was good, thank you guys very much, wren, that was awesome, it helped me a lot, and well, I guess I will get better at this, thanks.

I little about me, well I also like charmed a lot, but not so far as to get he dvd's, i dont watch much tv, none at all unless i watching a good movie with my cousins and friends, the truth is that I much rather read a book than watch tv, I read every day of my life, its crazy. I'm 19yo and I'm about to graduate from massage therapy school, that was the only thing that I wanted to do since I was like 7yo and my mom would ask me to "rub" her back, so after high school I went to do that, my fam didnt want me to it at the begining, they said that I had such good grades, scolarships and things like that and that I could do something much better than that, but at the end I'm the one that has to live with it and thats what I love so I did what I wanted and I dont regret it. I also love all the magical stuff, and I have to say that I have been a vampire fan for as long as I can remember(thats why I picked up The Acidental Vampire, the first Argeneau book I read) I dont know, vampires are just so, so, I cant explain it, I just love them.
I live on Tampa Fl, and have been here for 3 and a half years, before that I was living in Dominican Republic , where my parents are from, I live alone bacause my parents and all my brothers still live over there .
I dont know what else to say but if you want to know anything at all dont be afraid to ask, I promise to answer with the truth and nothing but the truth and thanks once more guys, you are just awesome.

Re: Im so lost!!!!
