First off, I love the Argeneau series. I just finished Marquerites story and can't wait for Mortimers story.
In the books, the family tree shows Lucian/Jean Claude then Martine, Armand and Victor. But the books refer to Lucian as the oldest, how can Lucian be the oldest (i'm assuming of the siblings) when his b-day is listed as 1534bc?
Cindy's right Wendy, bc stands for before Christ. So 1534 BC is kind of like -1534. So it was 3532 years ago. Hope that helps.
Lynsay, whose wonderin if it would really be 3533 years ago because there is 1 year bc and 1 year ad, and is there a 0 year as the year he was born? Odd the things that come into your head at 3 A.M. huh?
GOOD LORD!! Well, I'm glad they changed it or we'd be having snow at different times each year. Aren't you the clever one Acal. Now I know who to source for research questions (grin)
I know, the Roman calendar was based off the Egyptian calendar which I think had only 8 months because they only had 2 seasons. The Egyptians didn't use a year numbering system they used the reigns of their individual pharoahs
The intention was to have the Christian Era properly begin with the year Christ was born. However, a monk named Dionysius Exiguus, originator of the system in 532 AD, made a miscalculation as to the year (in the calendar then in use) in which Christ was born. As a result, the year 1 AD was fixed four years too late. So, the Lord Jesus was four years old in the year 1 AD.

In A Bite To Remember Jackie says Vincent birth year is : 1592 2 months after Bastian.
But from Bite Me If You Can on the Family Tree has their birth year as 1590.
I'll have to check that one Cindy - Sometimes it can be quite hard to read those medieval scripts that were used when writing births and deaths entries in the old parish registers.
Lynsay or Mr. Spice I noticed on the website as well as in most of the books Jean Claude's DOD was listed as 1935 but in VI it's listed as 1995. Is this a typo on the family tree in VI or a constant typo in the previous books?
You did say that Bastien was 500 years old in that book Lynsay
Hmm it was interesting though to find out that the Argeneau family was responsible for the nanos You had it stated that Rameses grandfather researched it, as stated in the book Lucern's great-great-grandfather
Terri is working on it, copper. House elf Tori, as she is often called, is Lynsay's assistant. But she is busy right now with the new forum software and newsletters and all kinds of things.
Also, they want a good way to put the family tree on the website...so that takes a little research, too.
If you have a specific question, just ask, and someone on the forum may know of a thread or the Spice Team will get back to you with an answer when they can!
Stupid question time (Then I really have to get to work)
Why is it, in VI, Lucien is not showed as marrying Leigh??? It even shows Margeurite with Julius (even though that kinda spoils the reader ;) ) which leads to. . . why does Christian show up under Margeurite's name??
Hmmm, I really need to finish it this weekend, maybe I just stumbled across something
Yeah Avon screwed up the family tree for VI, it wasn't meant to be published there. Obviously you didn't get the memo not to read the tree, you'll find out soon enough, good thing you can't remember or don't know of the book that makes the spoiler clear
