I'm Shocked that NONE of you have mentioned Chris Keyes! After everything that Lucern and Bastien put him thru in Single White Vampire and Tall Dark and Hungry, I think he deserves a Lifemate of his own! I always kind of thought he and Jeane Luise would be a good match up...Then again, I always thought that Jeane Luise was a closet Dominatrix

The reason we haven't mentioned C.K. (Chris Keyes) is because he is based on a real-life editor friend that Lynsay works with and he has not found his lifemate.
Also, he will remain mortal, as Lynsay says even when he does find his lifemate, there are just some things...like love scenes...that you don't write about people you work with.

Sorry to let you down, but C.K.'s being "turned" comes up from time to time. We all like him, so at least Lynsay can tell the real-life "C.K." that he is a popular character.

With their permission, Lynsay will base a character on or use the names of someone she knows all in good fun. But, most that I know of have remained "mortal."

There's also the issue that because CK is based on my real editor back at Dorchester, I just wouldn't feel comfortable a.) writing sex scenes involving the poor guy. I mean, that's just kind of. . .er . . . I'm sorry I just couldn't do it. I couldn't write a sex scene with him in it. I just CAN'T. EWWWWW. I WORKED with him. and b.)Ummm, I can't remember what the heck the other point was, I'm still EWWWWING over writing a sex scene for CK. Oh right! I don't write for Dorchester anymore. I took the stories to AVon and while I got legal permission to take the Argeneaus and the whole Atlantis idea to Avon . . .well, CK IS their editor. It just feels kind of tacky to keep writing about him at another publishing house.

It seems like Kate & Lucern would have to move on eventually from working directly with C.K., because of the not aging thing. Maybe they have to change publishers...heeheehee. Also, didn't you use the names of some friends or neighbors in TAV?

Also, we can't have everybody getting "turned." To keep it believable, a few characters have to remain mortal. Just not Tiny or Teddy or GG or...okay, we will accept that those based on real-life people are on the "remain mortal" list. Personally, I don't want to read about a real person's imagined sex scenes...you're right, Lynsay...that would be ewwwww

Besides, where would the immortals get their blood supply if we had Lynsay turn the whole world?
