ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

Ok so I just went and got Vampire, Interrupted so I could start reading it on my lunch break (cause god forbid i can wait to get home lol) and what did I do?! I looked at the family tree as soon as I opened it and totally ruined it for myself! lol I am so mad! But at the same time i am really excited to start reading because I was right about christian's mother lol! Now lets see if the JC conspiricy theory was correct.

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

We're not too happy with that either, Lanie. Our protest has been registered with the publisher.

Dave

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

i mean i love having the family tree in the books but maybe it should be in the back so it doesn't spoil it, because lets be honest if it's there readers are going to look at it right away. we can't help ourselves lol.

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

Personally we would have preferred it not to have appeared at all in this book. Maybe in the next one when most readers will already know the outcome and it won't spoil the entire storyline.

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

ya I totally looked at it too and I was all WTF NO--I mean yay I was right but I didn't want to find out THAT way--I wanted to find out hyperventlating my way through the book (which I did when I ditched school to read it today)

While launching your protest with the publisher is awesome Mr. Spice--what if anything can it accomplish

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

The spoiler did not affect the book. It was HOT. Had you on the edge of your seat.

You suspected something like this from ABTR.

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

Agreed. Seeing Marguerite as more then a mom was awesome

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

Mr Spice, I am sure Mrs Spice was quite PO'd as well.
I feel there should be some major ass kicking... Maybe in the next printing they can put the family tree in the front of the book from Thomas's story. And in the back of the book put the updated version. I think I will warn all my bookbuds not to read the family tree at the beginning.

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

Protesting to the publisher will achieve very little - apart from making it known that we think revealing the answer to the book's central mystery, before the narrative has even begun, isn't exactly the most professional decision we've ever seen.

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

We will back you and Mrs. Spice with angry pitchforks! =D rwaaar

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

Yeah, and especially when they put it up in the sneak peak on the Avon website earlier this month. That's what several of us were talking about a couple of weeks ago. NOT the way we wanted to find out. Maybe we, as fans, should launch an email campaign letting them know they blew it. But, would that accomplish anything other than making them mad?

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

I think we should all storm the publishers, and threaten dire consequences for letting such important information about the plot out of the bag. I haven't figure out what those consequences are yet but with a little creative thinking and some assistance from my sisters, I am sure we can come up with something Mr. and Mrs. Spice.

Who's with me?

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

I didn't mind having the family tree in the book, because the line went directly from Marguerite to Christian...which made you wonder just a little how it was meant to be read...son of Julius or son of JC?
And if he was JC's, what had happened?
Since Lynsay always has so many interesting twists and turns, we could not be sure.

So, even though we had all been speculating, there still seemed to be a great bit of mystery. It does seem it would have been more professional to update any children in a following book...because the lifemates are always shown with their book title. It still irks me that they haven't fixed it so that Leigh is connected to Lucien...if they take out the word "twins" they would have room, and they could indicate that Lucien and Jean Claude were twins in a different way.

However, I did object to it being on the Avon/Harper Collins website ahead of time...that was a HUGE spoiler for fans of the series. I will not go back to look at the exerpts on that site in the future, as I was very deflated to see that when we were all still discussing the possibilities on the forum. I think it is a poor decision on a publisher's part to ignore what the author and her personal associates (aka Mr. Spice and House Elf Tori) tell them about spoilers and about the feedback they get from their fans, especially when it comes on the author's official website. After all, the publisher can only make their money from the books if the fans want to buy them...and buying them new is the big push! It all gets back to good marketing, because publishers make more than the authors on the books. They should keep their bestselling and very popular authors happy! They should keep their fans happy so that they buy more books. For example, I read a lot of Avon authors because I like the books they publish. So I will actually look for the Avon logo, and try out new Avon authors. It's like any brand name that you come to associate as the best...they need to remember that.

Okay, that's my tantrum for today!

just my opinion...and I would be happy to tell Avon so...their poor decisions would not stop me from buying any of Lynsay's books, but it might stop others who will wait to get it at the library or new readers from buying the books for their "keeper" collection!

wren...whose dad wanted her to major in business & marketing but she didn't want to, and he might like to tell her "I told you so"...someday soon I'll give him the satisfaction, because dads are important enough to do that, kwim? Also, he was probably right!

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

Thats a really really REALLY bad screw up to release the spoiler to the main point of the story. I was upset when I looked at that, they have Christian marked on there but Lucy isn't there.

Still it didn't detract from the story though. Can't wait for the next book!

Re: ahhhhh spoiler (VI)!!!!

Well I for one have sent out a APB to tell my book buds DON"T LOOK........ My niece just got VI. And she promised me she wouldn't look at the family tree.
