I I love love love VI.
Ohhhhhhhhhh the Train......... Love the fact that all her dogs were names Julius. I also love that all my Favorites make a apperence. It had me going till the very end.

ohhhhhhhhhh Julius!! I was at work this morning when they came to put up the new paperbacks at the checkout........ and what do wondering eyes did appear......... Vampire Interrupted. I had to get myself a nice fresh copy.... Thanks again Lynsay!!!

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Linda

I agree with you.

Great job Lynsay!!!

Can you say NEXT????

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Wasn't it AMAZING?!

Oh my god. I mean I totally thought my theory about Jean Claude being alive was right and for half the book I was smug and all I told you so--but WOAH major plot twist omg poor Lucian...and uh poor ******* Jean Claude too I guess.

This leads to an important question about the council rules then.

Surely all immortals know the importance of lifemates--so whate happens if a lifemate sadly does perish--surely the council could/would understand the need/desire to turn another (should they prove to be a lifemate) Can this and will this ever be put into effect (like say by the brooding immortal Armand who should so have a book)

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

i just started reading and am up to the part whth the Notte group meeting and it reminded me of the intervenchen that Lucian had in BMIYC it was so funny i was LOLing so hard my mom burst in the room to see if i was okay

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

I thought an immortal could turn another if his original lifemate had perished...but I'm not sure now.

This books is AWESOME! I've already posted my thoughts on the "I can't find it" thread.

#1 all the way...Here's to Lynsay Sands, our favorite author!

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

OMG this one was the best yet Lynsay!!! I've never laughed so hard!!! I thought for sure I'd wet myself during Julius' and Christian's bathroom conversation at the night club lol that was classic. "talk to her OUT LOUD!" lol I'm still laughing today. I'm very tired because I stayed up all night reading and got up extra early this morning to finish the last 3 chapters but it was well worth it!! WELL DONE LYNSAY!!

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Lynsay, absolutely loved the book. I laughed out loud and nearly rolled off my couch in fit of hysterical laughter while I read it.

I gasped aloud as I read some of the twist and turns.
And I was loathed to lend it to my mother to read even though I have just read in all in one sitting. I was terrified that I would not get it back for my collection, and she is MY MOTHER! She gave birth to me and I didn't want to lend her a book.

J4- I have now declared this to be my all time favorite Argeneau book (It was SWV before).

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

J4 mine was BMIYC until this. Now we just have to wait again im-patiently for G3 to get hers and read it.

C1-who also can not wait to discuss it.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Glad you guys are enjoying, or have enjoyed VI. I always think each book is my worse and worry you guys will think so to. And I'm relieved if you don't.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Oh, forgot! The issue of being able to turn another if your lifemate dies.

No.

It makes it too tempting to kill a wife or husband if you're foolish enough to give up on waiting for your lifemate and turn a non-lifemate. I mean, imagine the temptation for Jean Claude to have killed Marguerite so that he could turn his true lifemate and live with her out in the open. It also tends to discourage immortals being foolish enough to turn a mortal they can read and control and basically enslave.

It never got in the book so I'll tell you here, Jean Claude's first wife was born not turned.

Lynsay, REALLY going back to work

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Lynsay,

is it something that they can take to the council....if their lifemate were to die (naturally of course!) and the find another centries down the line???

G3

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Good question Gena. Or how about what has happened to Armand's lifemates?

C1 inquiring minds wish to know.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Perhaps Armand's lifemates were born...not turned. It's unusual to find three lifemates, even as old as he is, but they were immortal when they died. If he couldn't make turns

Oh well, maybe we will know more one of these days...we had to wait awhile to find out about Victor, but it was worth the wait!

wren

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

so if you are a lifemate for someone does that necessary make them the lifemate for you?

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Jill, I believe the answer to your question is No. There is always the question when an Imortal finds someone they can not read, will they themselves be able to be read. Does that make sense?

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

yes

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

jill, look at bastin....his first was a love, not a lifemate, and she was able to leave him!

as far as lifemates go, they have mentioned in a few books, "the fears they had about their lifemates not wanting to be with them....it is a very real fear for them!"

i guess it could happen, although if they were true life mates the other person couldn't walk away fom that bond they form, could they!!

G3

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

That's true G3. The romantic in me tells me that if one feels that way, the other should too. The realistic in me makes me realize that doesn't always happen.

Thank goodness though Bastien found Terri. Life would have been unbearable otherwise.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Okay, I figured out who the villain was as soon as Tiny mentioned the possibility of who the target was. Of course, that was only a few pages before we found out. I was sure someone wasn't dead. But then thought the true villain was bitter because that someone turned out to be their lifemate, so they were both out of luck. As soon as Morgan was mentioned I realized he had to be one of the three. But WOW! was that a perfect book or what?! Hat's off to Lynsay and her superb plot. It was the perfect finale of the three-month trio. Now only 6 more months.....

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

At first I believed the same thing that Julius believed. But like you said as soon as Tiny told them to look at it from a different angle, I knew immediately.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

can I also just add that Julius considering the fact of buying Christian a night club to run so he can meet a lifemate and give him grandbabies was SO hysterical. That is so something a mom would say

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

I just read the whole book today, I just loved it! You have a real talent with the romance Lynsay, I can't see why you possibly think that they get worse! They get better! This is my favourite so far and I have all the others in the series on order

Can't wait!

It was soo incredibly steamy there, the train scene with Julius and Margarette in the toilet, somehow they all end up like that in their first scene That was great, I bet Julius really would have been ready to rip Tiny's head off after that interruption

The interaction between Julius and Christian was great "Talk OUT LOUD!"

I never suspected that it would be been Vira! For sometime there I thought it would have been Jean-Claude!

What an evil crazy ***** she cause major suffering for 3 people for half a millenia! Jean-Claude would have just stayed hidden with his lifemate. Now we know why he was like that.

At least now they can be happy, I think Christian does need a book though. I can't wait to read Vincent's book

The spoiler at the start of the book gave it away who Christian's mother was though the family tree had Christian as Marguretts son.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Thanks for the lovely compliments guys. As for your question about mortals walking away rather than agreeing to be lifemates, yes they can.

You have to remember they have not lived hundreds of years alone and longing for someone to share life with. They have not been raised on the lore of lifemates and the one for them. They may not be with or around the immortal long before this stuff is dumped on them, and fear . . . well, that can be a horrible thing. I mean, gees, I had a scary moment or two about leaving all my family behind and everything I knew and moving to England to be with Mr. Spice. I did't let it stop me, but I know someone else who was in a very similar situation and DID let it stop her. And if they DO let that fear stop them and say no, they are done. They generally don't get the chance to sleep on it and change their minds. As a rule their memories will be erased and its done. Lucern's situation and Etienne's and Bastien's were aberrations. Marguerite gave them a bit of time because she wanted her children happy. By immortal rules, she should have called in Lucian and had Kate, Rachel and Terri's minds erased. But . . . well. . . Marguerite is Marguerite.

Lynsay the babbler tonight

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

There was a question I wanted to ask you Lynsay. In the books I read they pass out after sex but in A Quick Bite this didn't happen with Greg and Lissiana even after Greg was turned. Did you introduce this later? Or was there some reason it wasn't brought up in that book?

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Ashley I thought it was really funny too. But it wouldn't be a half bad idea considering that he is a muscian.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Acal,

AQB was written out of order. Although it is the first book, Dorchester published LB, SWV, and TD&H but they only contracted for three books and they wanted the brothers' stories first. When Lynsay moved to Avon, they published AQB first...so she was writing the story that happened before the other three books in the timeline...which takes a lot of skill if you think about it. She had to make sure that it all fit with the three books already published and that it fit as the beginning of the series, the way it was meant to be when she originally started the Argeneau books...at the same time getting Lissianna's and Greg's story the way it should have been if written first, with the same quality as the other books. Also, this was the first Argeneau book with Avon...so she was working with a new team. Wow, I don't know how Lynsay pulls it off, but I'm glad she does!

I don't know if that has anything to do with why fainting was left out,but you get some of those details in the following books, when Marguerite & Lissianna help the "turned" lifemate gals know the advantages of immortal love & sex. I read SWV first, and then hunted for the other books. I think AQB came out just after I had read all of Lissianna's brothers' stories...and I was already fully "turned" as a Lynsay fan, and reading her historicals.

I kind of look at the Argeneau series as one long story, instead of separate books. Even though they can stand alone, you get little details when reading the entire series that make it even more wonderful!

Glad you have caught up with VI...let the discussions begin

hth...wren aka W2ofAE4

P.S. If you have not read the Hannah Howell/Lynsay Sands duos, about a highland clan that is just a little "different," you may enjoy those. Read them in order if you can because they are better that way...the book order is posted on the website.

You would also enjoy the anthologies "Dates From Hell" and "Holidays Are Hell." Lynsay's stories are hilarious as usual, and her use of the scientific to explain things always amazes me. Lynsay's stories are related, so you want to read the anthologies in the order listed above. Also, there may be other authors in those books that you already read. I'm not a big anthologies fan, but these were really good.

I don't know if you read historicals, but Lynsay's are what we affectionally call the "hysterical historicals." Trust me, these books are truly funny.
I don't think Lynsay is capable of not being funny!
At least read The Brat...although others will probably chime in with their own favorites. I can't read The Brat without with tears rolling down my face.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

It may be because Greg wasn't immortal at first.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Yeesh. Did I not? That would be an error then. A big fat stupid mistake. God I had a miserable time writing that book.

Honestly, if I had to pick a story I liked least it would be AQB. Not because I didn't like the characters or the setting or story itself. But simply because it was such a high stress story for me to write. As Wren said, it was my first for Avon and a new editor, AND they'd won it in an auction so I felt a lot of pressure to make it really good. And then I was constantly having to check between the other stories to check on what had been said about whom to make sure I didn't get anything wrong in mention of the other family members or Lissianna herself in this book and so on.

Basically, with all that stressing out (which I do VERY well and Mr. Spice is constantly giving me hell for, saying I don't handle stress well at all and will have a coronary on him) and panic I just didn't even think of or remember about the fainting. Sigh.

My humblest apologies. If I'm ever given the opportunity to change it, I'll have them pass out on the floor in the bedroom, slide off the dresser and wake up in a tangle on the floor.

Lynsay, the most definitely imperfect

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Lynsay,

Hey, you aren't the only one who is supposed to be checking for those kind of things so don't take it all upon yourself. Aren't there proofreaders and your editor whose job is to look for those kind of things?

I do realize that it has been mentioned that this was the first book at a new publishing house but if I was your editor, the first thing I would have done was to read the previous books in the series a couple of times to make sure I was familiar with the Argeneau family and world. I'm not saying I would have noticed the mistake the first read through (I am so caught up in the story, I seldom notice misprints or continuity errors unless they are really glaring mistakes.) but on the second or third reading, I definitely notice those kind of things.

So relax, Lynsay. We still love ya!

Kimberly

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Lynsay

hey I never noticed that so in my eyes you are still perfect =) <3

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

***SPOILER WARNING ~ AQB & LB***

I don't know, Lynsay. I wouldn't change a thing!

The brothers were not around all that much in AQB, and I just don't see Lissianna explaining that to Greg while they were on the run..especially while she was freaked out with Uncle Lucien and the nuts trying to stake them...the only one to really explain much to him would have been Thomas, possibly...and he and all the girls were busy trying to get Greg to help Lissi with her phobia. Somehow, I don't see Thomas just offering up the information unless asked about it...and I don't see Greg asking. Now, if Thomas had happened to read him, he might have said something...but with his prankster ways (at the time) and it being Lissianna who he is so very close to...nada...just can't see it.

I think the details work out well when the ladies explain to Rachel...since she has already been turned and they are trying to show her the advantages of being immortal. I like that in each book we get a few new details about immortal life...it makes it more fun when we reread looking for those "clues" to future lifemates and books, kwim?

You did a fantastic job bringing A Quick Bite into the series where it was supposed to be while dealing with all of the details of the other books and a new publisher. It had to be difficult to write Etienne's, Lucern's, and Bastien's books before Lissianna's, while still keeping open all that was supposed to have happened in her book. I did notice that "Luke" had written Love Bites and Love Bites 2.
I'm guessing that was Lissianna's and Etienne's books, but you did not have a title for her story to use. I know that publisher's often want to do trilogies, but I think Dorchester was a little short-sighted about not starting with Lissi's book and doing all four...they ended up missing out on a great opportunity. Oh well, that's the way life goes sometimes.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

Lynsay don't stress the book was great.

Re: Vampire Interrupted!!! Spoiler

It was great! It was just a small detail I had to ask about
