Happy Romance Day

Okay ladies and gents tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Since I don't have my lifemate yet, I will live vicariously through others. So does anyone have any special plans tomorrow?

For all the singles if you want discuss your favorite couple fictional or not. Mine is Beatrice and Benedict from "Much Ado About Nothing".
"I do love nothing in the world so well as you. Is not that strange?".

Re: Happy Romance Day

I don't have a life mate either. If only there was a guarantee I would find mine. But the search is on! there are so many couples I like for example Clarissa and Adrian from Love is Blind. Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth from Pride and Predudice(only seen the movie ) the Beast and Bell I love Disney ***Spoilerish Alert*** hm...I think Leigh and Lucien are my favorites in Immortal lifemates because she gave him the chance to live again. Same with Victor and Elvie that book was cute because All of her suitors found their lifemates

Re: Happy Romance Day

For best couple..Lucian & Leigh. Of course Lucian has always been my favorite.

As for the day: Lets see..first my wonderful husband is going to fix me breakfast. Then we will go to a movie, next a nice lunch. That is for my Birthday.

Then for Valentine's Day he is taking me to a very romantic dinner someplace(no I do not know where)

Then Friday night we will celebrate with the families.

Of Course I get SmileyCentral.comfor both and SmileyCentral.com too.

I hope everyone has a nice Valentines Day.

Re: Happy Romance Day

This will be the first Valentine's Day my husband and I have spent together, he works out of town at a diamond mine and has always been gone. But I have to work tomorrow so not much going on with us but it will be nice to have him home. The kids have chocolate for their dad and they have made some Valentine's day crafts for him so we will exchange chocolate and cards tomorrow morning before I go to work.

Re: Happy Romance Day

No big plans other than helping at school with the kids' V-day parties. My son has basketball practice tomorrow evening so no going anywhere. My F-I-L will be bringing the kids some stuff later in the evening.

Puppylover, cherish that big brother while you can. Before you know it, you'll both be in separate parts of the country and you'll be wishing you could see him more often.

Denise, who has two brothers and one sister, all of whom live in another state. sniff, sniff.

Re: Happy Romance Day

Dear hubby has to work, but he baked my favorite cake last night...white cake with vanilla buttercream icing...and drew a heart on top!

Re: Happy Romance Day

I spent last night making cookie dough and this morning rolling it out and making heart-shaped cookies for my kids' Valentine's Day parties.

A little off-topic but...I used to hate making sugar cookies because I could never get the dough the right thickness and half of them would be too thin and burn on the edges. However, they have these neat rubber-band-like things in all the different thicknesses (1/8, 1/4, etc.) that you slip on the ends of your rolling pin. Problem solved. I made 3 batches this morning with no problems!

My husband and I never really do anything special for Valentine's Day. He thinks it's silly to have just one day a year where you celebrate with everyone else at the same time. He's more into spontaneous displays of affection throughout the year. Like doing the dishes for me! Or taking the kids over to his mom's or for a hike and letting me have some "me" time. Not to say that I wouldn't mind a little something but I understand why he probably won't. If they hadn't gone overboard with the whole commercialization of the holiday (trying to sell more stuff and make more money) then it probably wouldn't bug him so much. One of our neighbors decorates their bushes with Halloween lights, Green Bay Packer lights (green and gold), and Valentine's Day lights! Of course my husband thinks that is a total waste of money. And he hates Sweetest Day! He said that is a holiday made up by the Hallmark company!

He gets so grumpy sometimes but I love him. And he can be a sweetie. He once hide me earrings in the coffee ground container and then kept hinting how coffee would sure taste good right now.

Kim (If I get nothing else today, at least I get to eat the leftover cookies I baked!)

Re: Happy Romance Day

I like the sound of your husband, Kim.

On this special day Lynsay and I like to run naked through the snow and note how long it takes for someone to call the cops and have us arrested. If the weather is really cold we'll take our cellphones just in case no one takes offence and we have to call the cops ourselves.

Re: Happy Romance Day

Kim your hubby really does have the right idea. Spontaneous displays are much more special.
I think I like this holiday mainly because chocolate gets marked half price the next day. And most of my married friends are either on diets or don't like chocolate so I can usually con it out of them too.

Jodi - I really happy that your husband will be home for the first time. Sorry you had to work today.

Mr. Spice - Thank you for that lovely revelation about you and Mrs. Spice. I knew there was a reason she was one of my favorite writers.

Re: Happy Romance Day

Oh and Mr. Spice, if you and Mrs. Spice do get busted by the cops on your lovely run, where do keep your IDs?

Just curious, there aren't a whole lot of pockets in a "birthday suit"
