How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

Lynsay,

I was just thinking that it might be nice someday for you to write either a short story (or a full length novel ) about a vampire from a different time period, possibly a member of the Argeneau family tree. I love both your historicals and your vampire series so it would be pretty neat to see a combo of the two. Some of our favorite Argeneau characters could even pop up for a scene or two. Perhaps as a teenager going through a rebellious period?

Kimberly (who is doing a happy dance because I get to read Thomas' story tomorrow!)

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

Kim,

verrrry interesting....I like it!

In the meantime, have you read the Lynsay Sands/Hannah Howell combos about a Highland clan that is just a little different. They aren't Argeneaus, but you would probably enjoy them. They are listed on the website. It does help to read them in order.

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

Kim that is a good idea. We have hinted wanting to more about the origins of the family. Will be at Borders when the doors open. Then feed the cat, let the machine answer phone and read all about Thomas.SmileyCentral.com

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

ya cool idea maybe it could be about Alexandria and Ramses, so sad have to wait till 3:45 to get it

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

that could be a really cool way to here about Martine & Aloysius...we get little pieces of her throughout the other books....but she is still a little bit of a mystery to me.Plus, LIKE YOU SAID...KIM!

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

I just thought of something. Doesn't Lynsay use two different publishers, one for historicals and the other for the vampire series? I hope there isn't something in her contracts about keeping the two separate but it wouldn't surprise me if there was!

That being said, wouldn't it be cool to see Lucern make an appearance back when he was a warrior?

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

I would love to see a historical with Lucern in it. Also maybe Bastien or Vincent. Both are old enough. That would fun.

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

Lynsay did write for Dorchester, but now writes both Argeneaus and historicals for Avon. We are very fortunate that she and her agent were able to work out something with Dorchester so that she could move the Argeneaus with her when she changed publishers. Usually, characters stay with the original publisher, and an author cannot continue with that series when moving to another publisher. I'm sure it involves copyrights and other contract legalities. Love Bites, Single White Vampire, and Tall,Dark & Hungry have the original style covers, because they were not published by Avon in the beginning. With Avon, Lynsay went back & wrote Lissianna's book, and then took off with Vincent's book to continue the series. That is why the books were published out of reading order.

The historicals she wrote for Dorchester stay with them, and she will not be spinning off from those books although there were wonderful characters that we all hoped for, unless she & the publisher have a new contract in the future. I'm not sure if she has any more historical contracted for Dorchester since The Brat came out. However, she has a Scottish medieval trilogy of sisters coming out with Avon that she is working on in between all these Argeneaus she writes for us. She also writes books with Hannah Howell, where Hannah writes half of the book and Lynsay writes the other half. They are about characters from the same unusual highland clan, with each author putting her unique spin on it. I believe those are published under Hannah Howell's publisher, but they are listed on Lynsay's website. She also takes part in anthologies occasionally, and you will find her shapeshifter stories in two of those if you are interested. They are funny, and it's very interesting how the humans become shapeshifters, but you'll have to read for yourself. No Spoilers! LOL

True, I don't know how Lynsay does it all either, but at least she is taking better care of herself. If you read her blog, you will know about her efforts to get more sleep and eat better, and her encouragement for us to do the same.

I'm sure Lynsay could do an Argeneau historical if there was enough interest for the publisher to agree and if she felt a good story could be accomplished.
The idea is a lot of fun, but she gets in so much of the backstory on the characters just through the contemporary books. Since she now writes historicals for Avon, it probably would not have anything to do with the type of romance. It probably will have more to do with storylines and how many Argeneaus Avon is willing to publish, and the direction Lynsay's imagination takes the series. After all, when a character is misbehaving, she puts him or her in their place until they are willing to settle down and get their book written! Think of Stephano Notte...he better stop whining if he ever wants his turn at telling his story!

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

I agree Wren. But not before Armand comes out of hiding. (again with the older man) Then we also have the only sister, Martine. There is a story there also. Yes I know she has her lifemate. But are you not curious about her past lifemate and children from that union?

C1 of AE3 is very courios

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

Wren you had mentioned before about her books with Hannah Howell. I want to read them too but I want to read them in order. I was unsure which one is first. Do I go by release date?

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

Yes, go by the release date. 1)The Eternal Highlander
2)My Immortal Higlander & 3)Highland Thirst. The anthology with four authors is not part of the series, although the stories are good.

The two anthologies, Dates From Hell & Holidays From Hell, have Lynsay's shapeshifter stories and are very funny. Read them in that order.

Happy reading, wren

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

Jill, also Highland Vampire doesn't have one of Lynsays stories, but Hannah's story is about one of the characters, Jankyn, in The Eternal Highlander.

Re: How about an Argeneau Vampire historical?

Denise, thanks for letting us know that. I will need to read that book.
