Just reading The Accidental Vampire.
On page 56 Last sentence "It was a BMW like Vincent's but black." Shouldn't that be Victor's??? Or did are you just testing us???

Re: boo boo

Geeze Girl good catch but it is page 96. I saw it but it didnt register till you brought it up! Way to go.

Re: boo boo

Thanks Linda.SmileyCentral.com Also on page 97

Re: boo boo

Victor also becomes Vincent on page 7 too. That's the one I caught and didn't realize the one on page 97 until it was pointed out here. I wonder if Victor was Vincent at one point.

Re: boo boo

Whoops! Since I generally do the first edits on the draft manuscript you'll have to blame me for these - although the publisher is also supposed to do edits too.

Names are the hardest things to spot when you're editing as your brain generally reads what you expect to see rather than what's really there.

I beg forgiveness... please!!!!!

You make me feel better! I get names wrong all the time. And when Im tired it is soooo worse.. I suffer from CRS.
I had to be to work at 4am.... made a cup of coffee fogot it.... left the presents for my coworkers on the table....but at least this time I remembered to let my dog back in.

Your forgiven. We all make mistakes. I had to re-read it just to make sure it did say Vincent. The mind and the eyes were seeing two different things.

Re: boo boo

It's okay. I thought it was funny.

Re: boo boo

Heck, I read right over them, twice, and didn't even notice that it said Vincent, not Victor.

Re: boo boo

That's what I did the first time around. I saw it began with a V and just assumed it was Victor.

Re: boo boo

I just bought the book so happy!!!

Can't wait to read it! Was going to wait for the others, ha, fat chance of that happening...lol.

Re: boo boo

Yeeesh!! Dave is sweet to try to take the blame, but I'm the writer, so the buck ends here. My apologies on the Victor/Vincent error. I guess it's a reflection of one of my biggest flaws, I'm forever screwing up people's names in real life too. Sorry about that, hope you enjoyed the story anyway.

Re: boo boo

Ummm, that would be the buck stops here, sigh. Guess I just plain have trouble with ALL speech. Grimace

Re: boo boo

Lynsay, you're an author, words move through your head so fast that your bound to have those little boo-boos. Especially when all your eager fans are putting the pressure on to please, please get the book out as fast as possible. Not to mention editors & publisher, etc. And how you can be writing about six books at the same time confounds me.
That's why I'm glad we have Mr.Spice and Terri to help take care of you. And Emma, but if she is anything like my Susie, her idea of taking care of you is for you to wait on her. After all, "owners of cats know that cats don't have owners."(from a bookmark - unknown author)

Dave, we would never hold such a little thing against you. You're our favorite preaf-rooder (I still think that is hilarious) and it's true that the eye sees what it expects to see when reading, especially with names. We are only jealous because you get to read the books first! Dear husband & helpful editor's privilege, I suppose! But when you tease us...then you are being naughty & mischievious. And you know you love every minute of it! Plus, you make such excellent crosswords, except I need my book so I can get back to my newsletter! Fortunately, I'm a speedy reader, so I think I'll make the deadline for the contest!

Tiarra, I could never wait to read the books back-to- back, either. They would have to put me in the loony bin...but I wouldn't go unless all my books tbr were in my hands. Otherwise, someone else might get a hand bit off. Especially if they didn't give me my Argeneaus!

The very humble, angelic wren hee,hee,hee....only the 2nd day of the new year, and I still can't behave myself! Gotta go so I can make it to the dentist tomorrow morning. NOT FUN!

Re: boo boo

Linda,

At least your dog was lucky that day!

Love your Smileys!

Re: boo boo

Dear Lynsay,

That is quite all right. At least you know we enjoy your books. You not only keep up entertained you keep us on your toes. It is a common mistake. We all at one time or another get names mixed up or confused. My husband comes from a large family. 8 kids total. I kept getting his youngest sister's name mixed up with his ex-wifes. Now that is embarrassing. (Jean- sister June -ex). Well I am going to get back to re-reading my books. Starting book 5 out of 7. Pre-ordered the next two from Borders. My best to you and your house from ours. SmileyCentral.com

Re: boo boo

I find it fun to catch mistakes like that. Unfortunately, the ones mentioned did run right past me. Spelling errors... I LOVE catching those. In anything... books, magazines, adverts on vehicles, billboards... etc.

I kept confusing Leigh for Jackie for some reason. Or, I guess I kept thinking Lucian was Vincent. Like.... seeing they weren't but not clicking in my head. I guess I wanted Vincent and Jackie there really bad... haha.

Theres was the first story I read of the series. I'm desperate to get my hand on Thomas' story. I love the fact that the female opposite him speaks more than one language. I guess I think its hot being cursed at in another language. My best example would be the movie Fools Rush In. I can tell someone off in Japanese and Italian now. I love it.
