I'm back....

Disney was great! But it is so good to be home. Yesterday E.G. bought me Dates From Hell and Holidays Are Hell so I could read and relax while the guys all returned to basketball practice. Such bliss. Even on a huge family amusement park vacation, it's hard to be without a book! LOL

Denise, I didn't see your "Bloom" in Orlando, Florida, but I looked just in case. The only likeness of his Will Turner character was on one of the pins people collect to trade or wear on lanyards.
Pin trading is a big hobby at Disney! Also, hunting for "hidden Mickey's" (Mickey Mouse head shapes) within the parks or on pins, etc. Oh, and I hope you go ahead and give it a try on the newsletter contest. You may remember more details than you think, and it never hurts to try and enter anyway!

We met a family from Bristol, England (am I spelling it correctly, Dave) on the Hollywood Tower of Terror ride. They were in the states for two weeks vacation, and said the weather was like June for them and Disney and surrounding areas much less expensive than England. Very nice people! The Tower of Terror is based on the old Twilight Zone tv shows, and it was lots of fun if you don't mind going up several floors in a rickety elevator in an old abandoned hotel and being dropped down and back up and so on. It was interesting, because the ride is computer generated so it is never exactly the same when you ride it.

Then my mom, dad, and I met a family from Aberdeen, Scotland on the Soarin' ride in Epcot park, while E.G. and sons were on a different ride. They were so nice, and also on a two week vacation, but suffering a bit from the heat and humidity. Although the weather was beautiful for my family who are from the deep south U.S., it felt quite hot for those who had come from very cold climates.

We met so many nice people all week, and the rides, parades, and shows were all wonderful. Well, after two parades, E.G. had enough because they were so loud! And I, the girl who does not ride roller coasters, got on a bunch of them! I even rode Expedition Everest three times in a row! And I'm glad I gave Space Mountain a try, because at the beginning of next year they are closing it for a couple of years while they completly rebuild it. That's good, because that is the only way I will ever ride it again! But I stuck to my vow of no twirling teacups...Alice in Wonderland can just keep her Mad Hatter and his tea party to herself!

Missed y'all! Now it's back to holiday stuff, then hopefully some normal routines. And counting down to Victor's book...I have never been so excited about the day after Christmas before!

Re: I'm back....

Welcome back. Glad you had fun at Disney. I lived in Florida for 10 years. Went to Disney probably 6 -10 times a year. 13 days till Victor's story. Like you and others I can not wait. It has been in the upper 70's to mid 80's for the past two weeks. This is December?? It is not supposed to be this hot in Georgia this time of year. Almost like spring & summer.
Keep having fun.

Re: I'm back....

Welcome back Wren!! Sounds like you had a blast! And yay on trying the rides. I'd have been right there with you. The birthday before I met Dave a boyfriend took me to Wonderland here in Canada and I hit all the rides I could. It was great fun!!!

And Cindy . . . SHAME ON YOU!! It's not nice to gloat about your lovely weather when we are having minus numbers up here in chilly Canada. Mean mean mean you!! Can you tell I'm jealous? LOL
