Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Totally off topic, but my family including my parents are going to Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida in December. It will be my mom's and mine & E.G.'s 21st anniversary that week. We were supposed to go two years ago, but Hurricane Katrina had other ideas and we had to spend our vacation money on generators. Mom & I figured we could live with putting mouse-ear stickers on them, and have some air conditioning and run the refrigerator. Practical, when necessary, kwim?

If you have been to Disneyworld and have any tips, please let me know. Only my dad and husband have been, and they are not exactly helpful in travel or packing plans. Besides, it's been many years since either of them were there.

To answer my question: Belle is my favorite princess.
She is brunette, she loves to read, she is french, and she loves adventure. Second is Cinderella, because...she is just a true princess.

I guess if I had to pick a character, it would be Eeyore, cause I tend to be a little slow & moody on a lot of days!

I want to get some mouse-ears. Growing up watching the old mouseketeers repeats, I always wanted to be Annette. You might know who she is, if you are old enough! Now I'm really dating myself. I know I'm older, but I'm still young at heart. Hey, Kristy Jo, did you watch the original mouseketeers in the repeats, too?

Just wish those nanos were real, Lynsay, umm...
without having to drink the blood! Just want the peak condition stuff!

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

I would have to chose Snow White for the Princess
and for character: live action Tim Allen as Santa Clause, then for animation: Pooh. That was my grandma's nickname. Her name was Winnifred (Winnie)

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Oh, I love it! I like the name "Winnie."

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Tell the truth Cindy, you picked Snow white cause you just want to hang with seven short guys (grin)

I'd want to be Shrek's princess, cause I suspect being an ogre is probably just more fun. No one would gasp in horror if you burped, lol. Hmm, that may not be Disney.

Ah well, as for favorite character that would be the gal from the Pirates of the Carribean movies (That IS a Disney film) I just think it would be fun to hang with a bunch of pirates. Especially if they were like my pirates from Lady Pirate. They were a blast to write about, have to be fun to hang with.

Hmm, I see a trend here, guess I'm just wanting to have fun. But then why not? I'm a girl. And that's what girls are supposed to want isn't it?

Lynsay, heading back to work now, I swear

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow, and Tinkerbell as you can probably guess from my email I am a huge peter pan fan!

xx

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Vicky, Jack Sparrow, cause you & I both love Johnny Depp! My sister is a huge Tinkerbelle fan and has all kinds of stuff with her on it, which will make it easy to find her a gift while we are at Disney.

Ah, Lynsay, so you would like to be Fiona from Shrek...except she is from Dreamworks...But, I think you would be fabulous as the extraordinary Captain
Elizabeth Swann, King of the Pirates of Pirates of the Carribean!

Kiera Knightly said in an interview that she was more pirate than princess! I thought it was cool in the movie that she was "King." And you are right, she is Disney!

Just one more week...Orlando, here I come!

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

You caught me Lynsay. But hey a girl just wants to have fun!

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Wren said "Just one more week...Orlando, here I come!"

Now if only that were Bloom she was talking about, I'd beg her to take me with her.

Favorite princess? Hmm... i think I'll have to go with Belle because i can relate to her. She's a lot like me. Even though Cinderella is my favorite story.

Favorite character? Baloo, Balu... however you spell it, the Bear from Jungle Book. He's such a great big lovable tub of fur.

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Denise, as in "Orlando Bloom?" Have I developed Argeneau mind-reading skills, LOL, and do I detect that you find a different Disney pirate endearing? Honey, if we could find him, I'd take you to him!

If we could, all us girls would go to Orlando together, ...cause girls just wanna have fun... Too bad they don't let you dress up as the characters you love in the parks (so as not to be confused with the "real" characters that they are paying,) cause I could just see us girls doing some serious role-playing!

Hmmm...we could just all be Lady Pirates! I've got to get Lynsay's pirate book.

I really liked Orlando Bloom in LOTR's trilogy. Have we put him anywhere on our actors thread? Just what Argeneau would he be?

When I was little, both in age & size, a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."The Jungle Book" was my favorite Disney movie. How could I have forgotten about dear Baloo & Bagherra? All the excitement must be going to my head

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Hey, Mr. Spice, what about you? This topic isn't just for us girls who want to have fun! Terri can chime in when she takes a break from doing taxes (a ghastly chore )

E.G.'s fave is "The Aristocats." Duchess, the white mother cat, sounds just like his mother did. I think she was voiced by Ava Gabor, and the tomcat was the same actor who voiced Baloo the bear in "The Jungle Book." But E.G. liked "The Aristocats" best even before his parents passed on.

We were married seven years before we had children. When Disney first began releasing their movies on video, we would buy them, fix up a snack tray of goodies, get some wine and snuggle on the couch while we watched the video. Romance was in the air...(You know E.G. claims he hasn't seen a scary movie since he met me!)

After kids, you get popcorn, nachos, & cola...and you watch the favorite video of the moment 20,000 times in a row until you hear all the songs in your sleep, and you don't remember what romance is...LOL And dinners out become "happy meals," and there is nothing in the world like an irate, but reasonable mother, telling off the manager at McDonalds because they are still giving out the old toys that you already have because they want to get rid of them even though the advertisements and displays show the new toys from the movie of the moment and you didn't even want to eat at McD, but the tots were begging to go...well, let's just say that the new toys magically appeared from the storage room (three toys just alike, so three boys are all happy at the same time)although the cashier had assured me they were not in yet, while my dear friend slipped away with her baby to a corner booth and pretended not to know me. The above incident really happened, and my dear friend Teresa still teases me about it to this day. But her 12yo son, who was 3yo at the time, walked out with the toy he had come for, along with my boys.

My mother is a wonderful, gentle soul, but also a strong, protective of her family & freinds, modern day lady...and if you ever hear her quietly say, "Look, I'm a reasonable woman..." you better get out of the way because she is about to lay into the person with whom she is dealing.

Alas, then there came a day when we outgrew "happy meals!"

I never, ever believed that I would be able to stand Barney, the purple dinosaur (not Disney) and his syrupy, silly educational show on tv. Ha, mom's learn quickly! The first time your almost 3yo sits for a half-hour engrossed in Barney's little preschool while the baby takes his nap and you can actually very quickly take a shower, purple dinosaurs become one of your best friends. I defend him staunchly to this day! We sang his little ending song every night for two years before bedtime...I know there are mom's who won't admit it, but for 10 minutes in the shower to yourself, the electronic babysitter will go on and you will love purple dinosaurs forever!! Sorry, got a little off topic! But, if Barney were Disney, he would be on my favorites list, just out of sheer gratitude! LOL

I better get going. We are supposed to be at the orthodontist for check-ups and stuff today, and there are still last-minute errands to run.

ttfn, wren who talks too much!

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Legolas, Will Turner, Paris... what's in a name, it's the view I'm enjoying!

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Hey Denise,

Maybe they will have a nice poster of your Orlando at Disney that I can find for you! LOL That smilie is supposed to be Legolas, but I think it's lacking in Bloom!

As stated above Snow White.

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

Favorite Disney Character. I would have to say Mulan. The girl was a bit of tom boy as I was growing up. And she still got the guy in the end.

Re: Who is your favorite Disney princess or character?

I love Disney. It so much fun to watch Snow White and then watch something like Monsters Inc and see how far they have come in animation.
