Argeneau question

Will you have a book in the series dealing with slightly older leads?(i.e. late 40's - early 50's)
I don't mind the younger couples, but being I am a little older, it would be nice to read about a good romance in my age group.

Re: Argeneau question

Hey, I think the heroine in The Accidental Vampire (Elvi) is older...maybe in her 50's. She is a widow, and somehow she is already a vampire, so she already looks her best. From the exerpt on the website, I don't think she knows anything about the immortals and they don't really know about her, and she is now in trouble because friends have placed a personal ad for her without her knowledge, so Victor Argeneau has to go investigate the situation. In the excitement of Thomas' and Marguerite's books, I was kind of overlooking Victor's. However, after reading the exerpt a couple of times, I am now very intrigued.

I can't remember how old the other heroines were, but I think most were about 30. I know that Leigh, Terri, and Jackie were 30 or 31. Rachel may have been around the same age, as she is in the medical field so she had finished school and worked for at least three years. It is nice to see characters of this age in the lead, because in many romance books the female leads are never older than 25 at the most. In most historicals, 25 puts them firmly "on the shelf" and 29 makes them absolute spinsters.

As for me, I'm a little older also, so it could be interesting to see a human lead with another 10 to 20 years past thirty. After all, those nanos are so good at putting the body back at its peak...

January is getting closer, which means more ARGENEAUS!
Happy Reading!

Re: Argeneau question

Thanks for the good news on that question. Most of these romance books make me feel like a spinster and I am not even 50 yet.
Us older ladies aren't spinsters yet
I was thinking that Victor was married. I guess I am getting the characters confused. I will have to review the stories again to fix that.
Thanks for the response !!

Re: Argeneau question

Victor is Vincent's father. His lifemate, Marion, who was Vincent's mother was burned at the stake in 1695. I'm going by the Argeneau family tree in the front of Bite Me If You Can.

Victor is also Lucian's brother, and he sits on the council that enforces the vampire laws. It seems he has been rather reclusive. He and Vincent both have the genetic problem that causes them to be unable to feed from the bagged blood, and it seems as if father and son are not very close. Maybe that will change.

I hit the mid-forties on my last birthday, and while I'm still young-at-heart, it would be nice to read about a couple of us "older" ladies. After all, Victor was born in 230 BC, so he is rather ancient

Just random thoughts...wren

Re: Argeneau question

Thanks Wren, that was a great re-cap. The light bulb came on as soon as I read it. I was getting Victors name confused with Vincent. Silly me.
I hope thats not a sign of growing into ancient hood He,he,he. I will blame it on to much on the mind.
Well I am definitely looking forward to this installment now!
