Dallas

Sorry for the delay in posting after returning from the RWA convention in Dallas - Lynsay has gone away for a few days to do some specific research for a future book. As usual I'm sworn to secrecy (which is my way of saying she's not telling me what it's about) and she'll be posting about the trip as soon as she returns.

For me it was an enjoyable experience and it was nice to see another city I've never visited before. It was great to meet everyone and put faces to names and for anyone who didn't come and say hello this time - I don't bite, you know - I'll see you next time.

Re: Dallas

Well I'm back from the research trip. What Mr Spice didn't mention was that originally he was supposed to come with me, but after a week in a hotel with three thousand women he was estrogened out and wasn't eager to be the only male with Terri, Jackie and I this last week so I let him off the hook.

So I got to meet Resa and her mother in Dallas, as well as Circe, Lindsey and G.W.. By the way, my apologies Circe. When you walked up and introduced yourself I pulled a complete blank, but there's a reason. It's the "best liver" in me. That's what Mr. Spice calls it See, it comes from . . .well, I have a pronunciation thing that goes on in my head. I am forever mispronunciating words. Once, we were riding along in the car one day and this car was in front of us with the license plate "BST LVR" and I stared at it with bewilderment and said "Best liver? Why would anyone put that on their license?"

"Best Liver?!" Mr. Spice burst out laughing. "I think it's supposed to be Best Lover."

I blinked in surprise and said, "But there's no 'O'."

Well, I mispronounce things all the time and I have been mentally mispronouncing Circe for MONTHS. In my head it has been like purse but with an s at the start, so I've been pronouncing it surse I guess. And then this perfectly lovely young woman stopped at my table at the book signing and introduced herself as Sersay. I pulled a blank until she reminded me of a couple of things she'd posted and then I felt a COMPLETE idiot!! LOL.

Ah well, no one is perfect and I'm less perfect than most My apologies Circe, hon, but it was lovely to meet you.

It was also lovely to meet Resa and G. W. and every one else too.

Resa you and your mom are sweeties. Did you leave before the Avon openhouse business? There were tons of free books signed and given out there you know. I hope you got in on it.

Lynsay, unpacking and then starting her next book

Re: Dallas

Just wanted to drop a note to say I enjoyed meeting you & Mr Spice at Borders. I've already finished one of your books and well on the way on the second. I really enjoyed Love Bite but A Bite To Remember is still my favorite. I'm still looking for Single White Vampire & Tall Dark & Hungry. IMHO you have one of the best series going.

Re: Dallas

Dallas was a blast, was great to meet you and Mr. Spice and GW.

Yes, we took off befor the Avon open house, we figured it was best to be hitting the road because of the long trip. As it was when we hit about half way here I had to pull over and take a little "nap" (never actually sleeped, just rested my eyes) at a rest stop befor I could make it the rest of the way home. it was deffently worth it though! :)
