Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come out?

I'll start it off...

I am reading GENA SHOWALTER's books "Red Handed" and "The Nympth King" for the second time.

Just finished reading KERRELYN SPARKS' three vampire books.

And LARA ADRIAN's books "Kiss of Midnight" and "Kiss of Crimson".

These are pretty good vampire books but I love Lynsays vampires more...he he.
I read alot, what can I say. And these are just in the last month. Plus Harry Potter in the mix...Oh my.

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

I've been reading Stephanie Laurens' Cynster series and a few of the Bastion Club series (also by S.L.). I've also read a few by Johanna Lindsey and Victoria Alexander.

A couple of Nora Robers, a Judi McCoy, and currently the firs book for the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter books by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Waitin' on Harry Potter myself. :D

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

I forgot to add that I'm waiting for the last Harry Potter book too! And the next movie looks really good as well. They have a new director, David Yates, and I recently read an article where he describes how hard it is to decide what parts of the story to leave in and what has to be left out (the whole subplot of Ron Weasley becoming the Quiddich King). I always love hearing about the behind the scenes stuff, don't you? It's great coming here and hearing from Lynsay why we have to wait (not her fault!) for the latest books instead of just haunting the bookstore and annoying the clerks by asking if they have heard when the latest Lynsay Sands book will be published.

Just finished Catherine Coulters "Double Take"....I like her FBI Mysteries. Just getting ready to star reading Liz Carlyle "Never Lie To A Lady" Oh and I also just finished reading "Tempting" by Susan Mallery. I have allot of books in my B&N wishlist that haven't been published yet...soon though:)

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

Horribly busy but managed to fit in a Feehan Drake Sisters series re-read (new one coming at the end of this month) and started Cherry Adair's "Edge" trilogy, Dragon Lovers anthology and not much else.

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

I have been looking for new series to read since most new books from my favourite writers don't come out until fall. Fortunately, Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich is in the post coming from amazon.co.uk.

Last week the bookstore that sells most english pocketbooks here in Finland had a sale, 20% off of every pocketbook. So I bought a lot of books; "Motor Mouth" and "Hot Stuff" from Evanovich, "Hello Gorgeous" from MJ Davidson (Hopefully I will get her newest Betsy book soon too) and since they were cheap I tried vampire books from Kimberly Raye; "Dead End Dating" and "Dead and Dateless". They were actually quite good (of course I like Argeneaus more but I would recommend these while waiting "the good stuff") Also I bought some historicals, pity they didn't have any Lynsay's books that I already haven't read.

PS. I am really waiting for those new excerpts, I have read the Accidental Vampire excerpt at least twice while trying to imagine how one could become vampire accidentally? Could there be hospitals involved some how?

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

I have just read Little Women as I had never read it before and I loved it!

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

I actually just ordered, about 3 days ago, all of the Vampire books by Lynsay because my first was the muy buena and muy intereste Bite Me If You Can. Ahh it was amor at first read hehe.

But since I'm waiting for those I am reading The Falcon & The Flower then The Dragon and The Jewel by Virginia Henley, then I'm off to re-read Adora by Bertrice Small
I absolutely ♥ Love ♥ historical romances and I read fast so whew got to keep em comin.

Also.. I notice you all talk about the covers alot, I think they aren't bad considering half the time on romance novels Someone is getting friggin dry humped. I shall take delish abs over naked straddling chick (who is usually too beautiful for her own good, I mean really does a model always have to be that pretty?) anytime.

♥ con amor

Heli!! Are you trying to get me to give away plot lines here? SHAME ON YOU!! Actually, that's something of a mystery at the start of The Accidental Vampire. Victor can't figure out how that could be either, and Elvi just doesn't know how it happened, though they sort it out.

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

I suggest J. R Wards vampire series. There are 4 out right now 5th comes out Sept 25. First one called Dark Lover I think.
Also Kresley Cole's books are good too. Her first Paranormal book in her series is called a Hunger like no other.

I read Kiss of Crimson and Kiss of Midnight too.
I started reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's books too.

Other then that I wait for Highland Thirst...It is Sept that it comes out?

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

Not realy reading so much as editing & getting my next book ready to send to my publisher. It's the first book in a series about a fictional Texas town. Yes this is an erotic vampire romance and it's my first attempt at erotic, romance & vampires. I've been working on & off of it for about 4 yrs now. My first book, as always took priority, Publishers are funny if you miss a deadline (which I didn't). I'm also working(at the same time) on 2 more book in this series, one a murder suspense and the third is a romance. Working on a different book usually helps me get through a case of writer's block.
Slightly off topic. I just found a link to your site On Buzzy's review site. We belong to some of the same online writer's groups. She did a wonderful review of my first book. I think the world of the lady & not because of what she said about my book.

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

I just finished reading "The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever" by Julia Quinn, I give it two thumbs up And tomorrow I'll be reading "Simon Says" by Lori Foster.
After I'm done with "Simon Says" I'm going to read every single book by my favorite authors, including: Lynsay Sands (duh ), Julia Quinn, Lori Foster, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Debra Mulllins, Betty Neels.
That should keep me occupied till Lynsays next book comes out

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

Am rereading Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife by Linda Berdoll. Yes it's related to Pride and Prejudice. I have read that a couple times now. The movie is one of my favorites.

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

Ooh, Lynsay, a clue... never would any of your angels try to get you to give us the plot line... ...evil chuckle...You know you would have to torture us to read or find out the plot before everyone else, ha/ha/ha/ha/ha/ha/...................

I have gone over the edge waiting to find out how you get to be an accidental vampire. Heli, might you be on to something?

Oviously, I need to find something to read!

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

I've justed started reading Erin McCarthy's Vegas Vampire series (I read the second one first and liked it now I'm going to order the first and the third one). I've also been reading MaryJanice Dickenson's Undead series which are so funny; I love the main character Betsy! But I'm really looking forward to the last Harry Potter book; it better be good and better than the last one!

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

Just read Flirting With Danger by Suzanne Enoch and am halfway through the sequel Don't Look Down. I really enjoyed the first one (female thief meets billionaire Brit after she gets caught breaking into his mansion - security guard sets off tripwire and bomb goes off - she saves Brit's life, they work together to figure out what's going on and who the bomb was meant for). I'm actually enjoying the second one more than the first. It's about the same two characters but set about 3 months later. She's trying to go legit and start a security firm. The relationship between them is complicated as they are trying to puzzle things out and it's very real. He keeps offering to help her and she wants him to butt the he** out and do it herself. I was cracking up after one fight between them where she storms off (vaulting over stair rails to the landings between while he tries to chase after her) and clips the door cables to the garage so he can't access the cars within to follow her, jams some garden clippers in the tires of the car out front and hightails it back to America. There is at least one more in the series that I know of and I hope there will be more to come in the future.

Re: Just wondering what books people are reading these days while waiting for Lynsays books to come

Just finished reading the last Harry Potter last night around 1 AM. All I can say is... AWESOME!!! I found it incredibly hard to put it down while I was reading it. I made myself reread the last couple of books in the series before beginning it Tuesday morning and I finished it that night. I admit, I was a horrible mother that day to my children. I let them watch waaay too much T.V. and they had to ask me 3 or 4 times for lunch because I kept saying "Okay, just a minute" which would turn into about 5 or 10 minutes. *blush*

The book was an emotional rollercoaster. No spoilers but... just be prepared to reach for a tissue on more than one occasion. And one of my favorite parts of the book is when some back history on a character is revealed. I can't say more without fearing that I'm spoiling it but you'll know what I'm talking about when you read it. I think you will, anyway!
