Lynsay: How do you think of the stories?

Hey, I'm a big fan of the Argeneau series and I was wondering, how do you come up with the stories? How do you think for the way they are going to fall in love (like how Kate and Lucern fell in love at the conference)? Where do you usually get your inspiration for the characters and what they should look like? How long does it take for you to write the books? Thanks for answering the question and sorry if I asked too many questions, I was just wondering.

Oh yeah, and when is Thomas' story going to come out, because he's my favorite character.

Re: Lynsay: How do you think of the stories?

Where do I come up with the ideas? Hmmm... If I knew that, Andrea, I'd bottle it and keep it for when I get blocked, lol. Most often, the stories come to me starting with either a funny scene idea or character. The characters always just show up in my head.

And I don't really decide when or where they'll fall in love, they do. I know that sounds odd, but really, it just pops into my head and if I try to force a story because of a deadline or something and make them do what I want, the story generally goes downhill and becomes a terrible struggle that sounds as forced and uncomfortable as it is. So, I've learned that if that starts happening, put the story aside and switch to another one. That's why Marguerit's story isn't the next one out. I started out planning to do hers, then Lucian showed up at the door with a woman in tow and took over the story. I stopped Marguerite's and switched to his. Lucian was followed by Elvi and Victor.

I really don't know where the ideas come from, but am grateful for them. I love a good laugh and know my readers expect that from my stories. I enjoy and am proud to take them away from their troubles and help them smile, however briefly. Life can be really hard at times, and while non-readers criticize romance, if nothing else, I think these books give us hope that while things may be tough at times, that can -- and most likely will -- change.

Hmm...rambling aren't I? Sorry. As for Thomas...I was hoping to do him next, but now he's being elusive and Marguerite is wanting to tell her story. I'm fluctuating between the two. It will come. I already know who his mate is and so on. And he might yet come forward before Marguerite. The two stories actually happen at about the same time and in the same place. I just have to keep writing down the ideas they keep sending me and see who comes out in the next book lottery.

i just figure they all live in differant worlds and when they want their stories to be told they let the best one to tell their story know it.
No one could have told the Argeneau's story better than Lynsay.
