Vampire Artist

I know there are a lot of you who are really into Vampire books. I found an artist that does some great vampire art...her name is Linda Bergkvist you might want to do a search on her and check out her art. I am not advertising..I just though some of you might enjoy her art:) Are there any Artists that you like?

Re: Vampire Artist

Well, she's not a vampire artist but my art instructor. Befor she started painting ceramics (which is what she instructs me in painting) she did, and still does, oil painting.

She does absloutly gorgous water seans.

Re: Vampire Artist

Well, I like a lot of artists, and I enjoy the paranormal fantasy paintings too. In fact the artist you sent us to, Jacquie, is quite good and I really like her fairy paintings. The use of golds and oranges and the use of light was really pleasing.

Speaking of which, it must be the use of light in paintings that attracts me, because the painting I like best of late is one I saw at The National Gallery in London when we went down for the weekend late this summer. It's called An Experiment On A Bird in The Air Pump, and isn't all that pleasing a subject since a bird is being suffocated in the image, but the artist's use of light kept me standing in front of that painting for a long long time, and I came back to it at least three times. The URL for the painting by Joseph Wright at the gallery online is

http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/cgi-bin/WebObjects.dll/CollectionPublisher.woa/wa/work?workNumber=NG725

Once at the site you can look at it larger, or zoom in on parts quite closely. But you just aren't going to see what I saw. The painting is huge with the characters life size. It's 6 feet high by 8 feet wide, or there abouts.

Re: Vampire Artist

I like the way she uses light also. I love the eyes:) She used to get allot of flack because she paints her boys a little girly...but that's another thing I like about her is she does what she likes :)
I'll check out that page you gave us. Thanks Lynsay:)

Re: Vampire Artist

You're right about the colors and I like the shadows too...also the emotions on the faces are good too:)

Re: Vampire Artist

She is a beautiful artist, and not just vampires. She is great with angels.

However, it's look but no touchie touchie. She doesn't permit use of her works.

She is like one of the most "stolen" from artists on the net outside of Jonathan E. Bowser.

Re: Vampire Artist

You're right about the expressions, Jacquie. I meant to mention that too.

And Deb, I'm not surprised she's stolen from. They are lovely pics...well, some of them are. LOL. Some would make great horror covers
