What are you doing for the holidays?

My family is getting ready to put up our christmas tree and we are doing the usually holiday shopping.
Soon my mom will make to some homemade christmas
candy it is fun making then what I enjoy most is eating them.
So what do you to get already for the holiday and what is your favorite thing to do?

Re: What are you doing for the holidays?

On the 16th we will fly to Washington state and celebrate an early Christmas with my mom and with Drew's family. Then we will fly home on the 24th and celebrate Christmas together with my dad.

Re: What are you doing for the holidays?

My daughter and Grandson and Youngest son and his wife are coming here for Christmas. My oldest son is stationed in NC a bit to far to drive to Az . However they are coming out this summer if I can get the money together to pay for their flight. It seems hubby promised my son we would pay for it without consulting me..the bill payer...about it. Sometimes I could just smack him...:)
My sister and her kids and Grandkids usually drive over here when I do Christmas...but her Daughter In-law is expecting her third baby and they want to stay close to home:) My Daughter In-Law's Mother and Brothers may come if they don't go to Mexico to visit family there.

I did allot of shopping on line today...boy my fingers are tired... as usual my Grandkids are making out like bandits...I just can't help myself..LOL..
I no longer bake it's just to hard for me not to taste test ...so I just buy See's Candies and Christmas M&M's and if there is any left when people leave it goes with them. Our tree is up and all of my storage boxes are out...the house should be finished decorated by this weekend...just in time for me to prepare for the stupid colon test...Merry Christmas...LOL.

Re: What are you doing for the holidays?

We're spending our holidays at home in Winnipeg. My brother and his family will driving south to Winnipeg from Northern Manitoba to join us.

In the meantime I'm baking, cleaning, baking, setting up the tree, baking, breaking up fights between my 2 sons, making sure my 3 month old kitten and other cats don't destroy the tree and finally more baking.

Re: What are you doing for the holidays?

I'm back in England for the holidays this year. Hopefully, next year we'll be with my family in Canada, but not this year. : (

That's okay, we're heading back in January and will see them then.

Jeesh, I hope your PO Box in Canada get forwarded to you in England.:) I finally finished Decorating the house...took me forever this year:) My Grandson just called and asked if he could spend the weekend with us...Ha!!! I know he just wants to peek at the presents..LOL.

Re: What are you doing for the holidays?

We're doing the usual. Christmas with my family. We all live within about a 20 minute drive from eachother so we can get together easy enough.

This year I am the insane one who offered to have the dinner at my house

Christmas eve we spend by ourselves. The kids get one special present. Natania and I watch the Nutcracker. Her Christmas eve present this year is a nutcracker with a little music box. You crank the handle and it plays music from the nutcracker.

Christmas morning we have breakfast and do our presents and after lunch the mob decends and all hell breaks lose.

Re: What are you doing for the holidays?

Well, lets see there were two questions to the first post...lets see how well I anwser both.

Christmas we're getting together with some of my dads family, 'cause we get along a lot better with his family than moms. Christmas shopping is done, now all we gotta do is bag/wrap pressents.

The thing I used to love about christmas and christmas break was to go to my grandmothers and help her make divinity and fudge. As ya'll remember, my grandmother passed away in July. I don't know if I could handle making a batch of fudge this year.
