Yes, Louise. The operative meaning is that the corporation is a legal person with the right to contract and that it investors are liable only for the money they have invested. Corporate personhood is the device that makes it possible for modern economies to invest in new and profitable businesses that are too large and or too risky for an inverntion.
Is it true that the left wing hates corporations because without corporations only socialism or a very primitive economy would be possible? Without corporations the socialists would not have to be embarrassed by their being compared to the wealth of campitalism? Is that correct?
