Louise, may I ask a couple of questions

Louise,
"Corporate personhood is neither logical nor legitimate. It was invented by corporate lawyers to obtain big advantages for a few people over the rest of us."
Could you please explain what you meant by those two ideas:
1. " "Corporate personhood is neither logical nor legitimate."
How is coporate personhood illogical or illegitimate? The purpose of "personhood is to permit persons to join together to do buisness. It limits their risk to the actual money or goods they invest in the corporation. Surely this is a good thing. I am a man with limited financial means. I can invest for my old age and only be at risk for what I put into the corporation. Otherwise if I invested in General Electric stock, for example, I would be potentially liable for every penny I own should the investment go bad. I am sure you have thought this through and have ready answers to everything. Will you please clarify your thinking for us.
2. "It was invented by corporate lawyers to obtain big advantages for a few people over the rest of us."
What advantages are you talking about? Who are these people you are talking about? Are they the school teachers, trade unionists and other people of limited means that buy stock in corporations for their retirement? Those retirement funds would be completely vulnerable to lawsuit without corporations being legal.
3. You say you are not a collectivist liberal. Do you realize that without the right to incorporate practically no one would go into business? The only possible owner would be a central government. Isn't the unseen consequence of this law a socialist society?
As I said I am sure you have thought this through and can provide ready answers to my questions. Therefore you answer should be forthcoming almost immediately.
Ron
