'Why the North Fought the Civil War'

Why the North Fought the Civil War

A book review by Eric Foner:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/01/books/review/book-review-the-union-war-by-gary-w-gallagher.html?ref=review

We know why Lincoln attacked the South

and I don't need to read more drivel by Lincoln idolator Foner.

Because the South attacked the North first and illegally to boot

And I don't need to read anymore of JS' enabling drivel.

Re: We know why Lincoln attacked the South

If you read the secessionists' statements, they wanted to secede not over states rights, but to protect their interests in slavery.
