Re: Lunch Nazis

Do You Want To Throw Up?
Posted by David Kramer on April 11, 2011 03:46 PM

Here’s the latest in our continuing downslide towards an Orwellian/Huxleyan/Levinesque dystopian One World Government. A Chicago public school has banned the slaves students from bringing their lunches from home. The reason? The school insists on the students eating the government-approved “healthier” lunch provided by the school.
Principal Elsa Carmona said her intention is to protect students from their own unhealthful food choices. “Nutrition wise, it is better for the children to eat at the school,” Carmona said. “It’s about the nutrition and the excellent quality food that they are able to serve (in the lunchroom). It’s milk versus a Coke. But with allergies and any medical issue, of course, we would make an exception.”
I haven’t had a school hot lunch in over 45 years. I can tell you that the garbage that they served me could literally make me throw up. (As an example, I still remember the nauseating bread with jelly and the nauseating vegetable soup they served.) This bologna (pun intended) going on at this Chicago public school is just another example of how the State wants to have total control over children (i.e., overruling parents) so that they can be molded to eventually become good little microchipped slaves for the One World Government folks.

UPDATE: Neil Alexander writes about his own interesting past experience with public school “cuisine”:
Eons ago — 1972 to be exact — I attended Cedarcrest-Southmoor Elementary School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The lunches there were horrific. I, too, remember a specific lunch involving some grayish-mash with what looked like either flies or raisins, I couldn’t tell.
Imagine my horror that summer at Boy Scout summer camp, when who should show up as the person in charge of all the cooking — but my school’s head lunch lady! Hair net over gray, thick glasses; slightly stooped posture. Yep, that’s her.
Imagine my even greater astonishment that the food at camp — all three meals a day — were TERRIFIC! Stuff I wanted to eat, lots of it, seconds available. Yes, even the vegetables were edible.
The BSA ran a camp in competition with the YMCA, among others, as well as numerous private and charitable organizations. Even though they hired the exact same people as the public school system — they were able to provide a good service at a reasonable cost ( $30 / week ).
Having the exact same lunch lady in both places could not have yielded a better example of government vs. private sector.
