I got mine yesterday too! They are fantastic! This is my first experience with minitures and I can't believe these little guys (and gals) can really be painted so intricately and in such detail. Seems nearly impossible; for me anyway!
My big dilemma now is ordering the paints. Can anyone guide me on exactly what colors and shades I should order for these miniatures? The professionally painted miniatures look great but I can't tell what colors and/or shades were used.
Well, I hope everyone else enjoys their miniatures as much as I do.
Of course, he isn't completely done yet (not to mention Matt's version is far prettier!), and I've found some stuff I have to clean up (nothing like seeing your minis 3-4X life size to find ALL the flaws!). I'm going to put some snow on the base after I seal him (if it EVER stops raining so I can! I also can't start on another one until it stop raining so I can prime :()
For the person asking about paints, my favorite is the Reaper Master series. Most of the paints I used on this mini were from that line. I used the Black, White and grey triad for the black and the fur on the cloak. The tanned flesh triad for the skin. I used Walnut brown, Golden Brown and Muddy brown for the hair. The metallics are mostly Games Workshop's silvers (Chainmail and Mithril mostly), though I also used Vallejo oily steel, often mixed with black.
Reaper Master Series is the way to go. Their Triad System is amazing and Anne Foerster from Reaper put alot of time and effort into this new paint line.

You could also use Vallejo Model or Game series paints as they are right up there with the Reaper Master Series.
My boyfriend got me these for Christmas, with the signed certificate. They are awesome! And so is he for completely surprising me with them. Can't wait to put some paint on them.
