Re: DICO 800 - How do I get the web server bit to work

Hi.

I got my webserver working by installing the dico800 webagent and then doing the following.

1) I installed my own webserver on Win XP Pro (I used Windows IIS, but you could use others...

2) I made sure that the html files that Dico's Webagent installed were inside my defalt IIS folder

3) I signed up for a free dynamic DNS account with no-ip.com as I did not have a static IP address.

4) I edited the file that the webagent created called "default.html" (located in your IIS folder, or wherever you put it) so that everywhere I saw my local IP address (such as 192.168.1.100) I replaced with my Dynamic DNS adress (such as camera1.no-ip.org).

5) I forward port 80 (for the web) and port 913 on my router(or whatever port you specify in dico800 setup)

6) I went to IE and typed "camera1.no-ip.org"

7) It all worked!

Sounds complicated? Unfortunatly it is if you dont know what you are doing. I could not get the webserver to work on my machine without doing all of the above steps. There might be an easy way to do it, but I cold not work it out!

Has anyone had any luck getting the Motion Detection masking working in Dico800??? It doesnt work for me. It records everything no matter what aereas I 'mask'. Any help would be great!!!!! (I have started a seperate post for this http://pub47.bravenet.com/forum/3962925981/fetch/750362/

Good luck!
