We are about to close our Pty Ltd company. Like a lot of business the economic down turn has done us in.
Can someone tell me or advise me of a link. I want to know if our liability for faulty garments (infants) ceases with the closure of the business? I assume our product liability insurance policy ceases with the business altho I can check that with our insurers. Any advice appreciated & thanks.

Depends if you have a "claims made" or "occurrence" policy. An occurrence policy will usually cover you for the future if you had it when the initial product error was made but claims made covers you when the actual claim is made and could be years after you close the business. You should talk to your broker or insurer about getting "run off" cover
