? surgery

After 3 yrs and many sessions of physio, chiro, LTBP, inversion, and self physio every day, my Specialist back Physio now says that I have tried every non surgical treatment and surgery is my best option. I know I dont have to have it, but I;m thouroughly miserable now. My leg is numb more often (it does release when I rest, which is a good sign apparently) She has suggested a Dynesys precedure at L5-S1. I'm really nervous, I cant get it out of my head that this could end up the same as the old type fusion, with problems with the adjacent discs. Has anyone had this done? If so, with what results?
